  1. Because of the whole no drinking before or after meals...I never drink anymore! I have a Protein shake for Breakfast and about 10 oz of Water all day. How can I work on this? Do you follow the "no drinking" rule?

Where are all my May Sleevers?

May 14th sleever here. For some reason the stomach spasms have returned, and i'm having a hard time drinking Water. it causes spasms and makes me nauseated. i dread taking my Vitamins because those really make me want to puke. i'm down 35lbs in 8 weeks, and i'm shopping in my own closet which is great. i eat about 600-800 calories a day, and have about 60 grams of Protein a day. It is so weird now that food doesn't have the same meaning it did before the surgery. I don't eat for enjoyment anymore. I only eat because i have to. The weekends are hard because family and friends always go out to eat and i could care less because i can only have like 3 bites of something, and then it makes me feel sick. my 15 month old and i will split a meal and still have leftovers. at least i'm a cheap date.
  3. So I'm about 8 weeks post op and the stomach spasms have returned. Up until about a week ago I was able to eat just about anything with no problem. Now nothing agrees with me except Protein drinks and it is difficult to drink Water sometimes too. Any thoughts? Should I call my doc?
  4. Syntrax Matrix Peanut Butter Cookie. If you add a little PB2 it makes it extra peanuty.

Denied by BCBS Federal with BMI < 40, next step

i didn't officially get denied, but i did gain weight to meet the BMI requirement. I was just a few pounds away like you. What was amazing was that it was really hard to gain those 10 pounds. It took me at least a month!

How often do you step on the scale?

Hey Mike, I'm a daily weigher like you. I weigh myself every morning. I know some say you shouldn't, but I find I do better with my weight loss when I do. I got sleeved on May 14, 2014. The first week I lost 15 pounds. The second week I lost ZERO. I was starting to panic, but the weight finally started coming off again and I'm down about 33lbs in 7 weeks.

    What is everyone eating?

I'm 7 weeks postop. I can pretty much eat anything except tough meats. This is what a normal day looks like for me: Breakfast - Syntrax Peanut Butter Protein shake Snack - Dannon Light & Fit strawberry yogurt lunch - Scrambled egg, protein pancake, or some kind of protein from a restaurant Snack - Mozzarella cheese stick with pizza dipping sauce dinner - Whatever I cook for the family. Last night it was taco cups (flour tortilla in a cupcake tin, fat free refried Beans, with ground meat and a little cheese...baked). I was able to eat about 1 to 1-1/2 of them. I haven't been eating enough veggies, so i plan to talk to my NUT about it and tweak my eating plan.

    Change in tastes?

I can't tolerate sweets as much anymore. Everything tastes overly sweet. I took a sip of Lipton Citrus Tea the other day and it tasted like beer. Nasty! This whole thing is a learning process.
  12. Shopping in my own closet is so much fun!

  13. I thought WLS was for only the super morbidly obese. I didn't know that you didn't have to be over 500 lbs to get WLS. When a family member suggested it I was really offended at first, but after some research I realized that it might be the right thing for me. Now I'm 30+ lbs lighter and off one of my blood pressure medications. Although I'm only 6 weeks out, I wish I would've gotten the sleeve sooner.
  14. 27lbs down in 4 weeks. YAY!

    Rash on stomach-pics

i would personally put some cortisone on it and see how it looks by tomorrow. i'm sensitive to bandaid adhesive and my stomach kinda looked like yours.

Thanks for posting this. It really helps me get a visual for what I will be able to eat once I'm out of this "mushy stage". I always wonder if I'm eating too much, or not enough.

    Louisiana Sleevers?

I ate a whole crab last weekend at about 3 1/2 weeks post op. It was nice to feel "normal" and eat what everyone else was eating. The acid reflux is KILLING me. Especially at night. I'm taking Omeprazole in the morning, and Maalox at night. I have to fall asleep sitting up, and I can hear the acid sizzling in the back of my throat. It feels like something is stuck in my throat...terrible.
