I think you have the right attitude for all the good reasons. I am surprised he didn't try to talk you into the gastric sleeve which to me is a real bypass, only they don't change routes, they just cut three forths of your stomach out and staple it together. So what if it leaks and then you have sepsis? That's deadly! I too am having my band out too. Yes it is scary. But like you, I wonder what is going on in my innards that I can't see. Like erosion, leasions, etc. My husband is sick of all my heaving and vomiting, and I as well. I only have 1.4 in my band but have restriction still. The gastric sleeve is still experimenal, but are'nt they all at some point? I'm just not willing to jump on this "band wagon" so quickly. I wish you well and all my lapbander friends out there. gayle

Dear Loser 75, :faint: I have had a lot of the pre-lapband removal symptoms as you had. I can add to that list, excessive sweating on my head, and hair gets saturated and drips on my face, clothes, and whatever else is sticking out! It greatly hinders my social life and it not only looks horrible to me, my husband has to look at me as well, and I'm sure he doesn't think I'm sexy when I'm soaked like I've just been in a water balloon fight. I can't dry and fix my hair pretty, although sometimes I try, (thinking "it might work this time"), but within fifteen minutes my head is soaked again. This is extremely frustrating and embarassing to me. To the point of tears. I am very thirsty as well and drink at least a gallon of water a day. My husband thinks that I am "puffy" because in his opinion, I drink way too much water. Yes, I have type 2 diabetes, but I've always been thirsty. I can't sleep no matter what. I have tried everything my primary care doctor can prescribe. And more! I try excercising more, hot baths, praying, yada yada. I have gained almost thirty pounds since I originally lost 50 three years ago, after my lap-band was installed. I haven't put it all on at once. I am scared to have it out, but my husband says, "it's coming out." He is tired of me vomiting my guts out twice a day, etc. We are going to my surgeon tomorrow and asking that he remove it for all the reasons as you plus a few more. Wish us the best! If you get any good input on your situation, could you please pass it on to me? Maybe other banders in our similar situation can give us some good advice. In the meantime, I will sure be praying for you as well as wracking my brain for some clues! Thank you for your message.:help: CC

I haven't seen my surgeon yet as he is on vacation. I feel stupid telling him I want it out after being one of his "stars" and shining examples. I plan to see him the first week in September. I just can't continue to PB and worst, vomit at lunch and dinner. It is sooooo painful. I can't do this anymore. Has anyone out there in the band removed world gone through all of this pain? I have never sweat so much in my life. I mean excessive! I can't fix my hair anymore because it is soaked within minutes. It's not only very uncomfortable, but embarassing as well. It interferes with my social life. My husband feels for me, and I believe it is tied to my lapband as I never had this prior to getting my lap-band. My hair has thinned and I have pain all over my body. I am sixty, but am healthy except for these things.I think I'd rather be a Goodyear blimp than go through all of this for the rest of my life. So, please let me hear from you only if you've gone through this or similar experiences.Thank you.CC

I feel exactly the same way, but don't see my doctor for two weeks. I hope my insuranve pays for the removal as they did for the installation! Good luck!!! Chicken Chest
