Try really hard to drink your protein drinks...Popsicles also taster REALLY good right after surgery...walk as often as you can and it will help keep the gas pain away...I burped a lot...so let yourself. CONGRATS and welcome to the family of Banders!! I am a week and 4 days out and by no way an expert...bit I have done AWESOME!!

It's Appt went well!!! I'm down 17 lbs!!! WOOT WOOT!! I actually teared up!!!!

I was told NOT to drink with a straw as this could make it worse....I'm only a week out today and NO PROBLEMS!!

GREAT ADVISE!!! That is EXACTLY what I did!! Research, Research, Research!!! WLS was a last resort for me. I had lost a ton of weight....20 years ago...and gained it all back and then some...after many fad diets and Weight Watchers. WEIGHT WATCHERS works!! But you you HAVE to stick with it!! I couldn't do it any more...So now I do not have a choice and I HAVE to be good or get sick or have MAJOR problems!! This WLS has now basically FORCED my hand at doing what I should have done a long time ago!!! --A toast to the New Year and the New Me...Here is to making an INFORMED, EDUCATED DECISION to prolong my life!!!! WOOT WOOT!!! I got this!!!!

First day back to work went well... The 10 million (exaggeration) wore me out first thing...other than being tired...I made it!!! Then I had a Girl Scout Meeting and a Cub Scout Meeting!! Came home, showered, ate and into bed!! WOW!!

Hey BT!! That was the same with me!! We are severely short handed and I had used a HUGE PORTION of my off time for the PRE appointments getting ready for the surgery!! So, I had my surgery on a Wednesday morning and went back to work the following Monday. That gave me 5 days w/ the surgery day. However, I have a desk job so I wasn't standing for long periods. But, the days I was off...I RESTED!! I walked to take care of the gas stuff and the lung stuff...but NOTHING else...my TV Remote, Kindle and iPhone were all but attached to me!! GOOD LUCK!!

Well...I do not have kids if my own...???? But I have 15 4th, 5th and 6th grade Girl Scouts and 40 1st - 5th grade Cub Scouts!! And each one is just as AWESOME as the other!!! So, it was OK. My girls were all head strong for cookie sales and money plans and the boys...well, lets just say...they were CrAzY little boys with a TON of energy lady night. Love Then ALL!!

It's 8:05 and in T -25 minutes, it will be MY TURN!! WOOT WOOT!!!

LOL!! That is EXACTLY what I have told people I had to give an excuse to!! My brother and niece are paramedics and have opinions on EVERYTHING medical!! I just decided that I did this for ME!!! No one else!!! I didn't want to hear anything negative and didn't want anyone trying to talk me out of doing it!! As I proceed on my journey I may change my mind. The people closest to me are the ones that know the truth.

That is EXACTLY why my mother was the ONLY member of my family that knew/know I had the band done!!

I am SOOO glad I came on here tonight!! I had NO tooting and was doing a lot of burping!! I thought something wasn't right!! My surgery was Wednesday and today was the first time I tooted!! LOL!

Tired today...more achy than hurting...I was actually taking Tylenol today and it was fine.

I am 1 day out!!! Doing well, minimum to moderate discomfort!! Ready to get this journey rolling!!!

Doing GREAT!! Minimal pain, more just uncomfortable. Trying to rest. My surgery was in Gallipolis OH at Holzer Medical Center. Thanks for the wishes and support!! I chose the beginning of January for a FRESH start to the New Year and for myself!!!

Well....I will be a bandit tomorrow!! Scheduled for 8:30 a.m. I am EXCITED!!!

Brand new to the site!! My surgery is scheduled for Wednesday...can't wait to work on the new me!!! I have been reading thru some the threads and am excited to get as much info as I can and am glad I found this group!!

Really?? A heating pad will help with gas pain?? I was told chewable gas-x.
