Seems like you and I are doing bout the same. I am having a hard time getting the Proteins in but I'm trying. I just had some chicken flavored broth with unjury chicken Protein powder blended in. I'm eating runny oatmeal with Protein Powder mixed in. I'm also eating potato Soup with the protein powder mixed in. I mix low calorie Gatorade with equal parts Water and that is helping me get the fluids in. I still pee orange but I don't feel dehydrated. Walking helps with getting the gas out. I have noticed when I wake up and walk to the potty my joints aren't nearly as stiff and sore as they had been. We had surgery on the same day the 21st!!!! Whoo hoo. I have my husband to help me get up from sitting; or else I try to roll my body. They gave me liquid hydrocodone and acetaminaphine mixture but I haven't taken that since 530 am. I took motrin for the pain at 950 am and haven't taken anything since then.

Diet Coke Addiction
webhopper replied to ChristenOnAmission's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been a coffee drinker since a very young age. Now that I have had the surgery I don't even want coffee. The hormones that used to tell me that I wanted coffee are just not there anymore. I have no cravings other than for mashed potatoes and gravy. -
I can do 3 to 4 oz in an hour. I have to sip sip sip to be able to get all my liquids in. Even with trying really hard I'm still getting only 40 to 50 oz per day and my pee is orange. The thought of going to the hospital with dehydration scares me so I just keep trying and trying to get those liquids in.

I am from tulsa and got sleeved by Dr. Ladd Atkins in tulsa. I am 5 days post op and ive lost 35 lbs since I went to the first seminar in January. I stayed 2 nights at pinnacle specialty hospital and I had 2 nurses to myself the whole time. I was the only patient for the whole 2 days. I was self pay and I chose Dr. Atkins because he seemed very friendly and approachable. I am so excited. Went to the mall today with my daughter and I cant wait to go back when its time to shop for some new clothes. I have a seminar coming up the first week of June and I cant wait til I can show off the new me to my co workers whom I haven't seen since last year. It will be awesome to be able to shop at my favorite stores again (new York and co)

APRIL SLEEVERS: How much weight did you lose?
webhopper replied to tanaproma's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep I am 227. I'm officially wearing a size Xl shirt instead of 2xl. I started this journey at 262 and lost down to 240 with diet and excercise and down to 232 on pre op diet. Now I am at 227 on day 6 after surgery. I haven't been able to eat very much at all but this is getting better as my sleeve is healing I can drink 3 to 4 oz of fluid at a time but I can only eat a few bites of my liquid "food" before I feel full. -
APRIL SLEEVERS: How much weight did you lose?
webhopper replied to tanaproma's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
For me; day 3 was good relaxed at the house and slept on and off. Day 4 was a relapse day because I coughed and when I coughed I felt a burning pain that hurt really bad. Today is day 5 and I'm doing amazing except for when the pain meds wear off. I actually walked a total of one hour today and did great. I am now wearing clothes that have been in the back of my closet for 3 years. And today I have been able to drink 64 oz of fluid. Mostly water mixed with low Cal Gatorade. And I sipped on lemonade the whole way through a 2.5 hour sports banquet for my daughter -
Im a 34 year old wife and mama of three kids that I homeschool. My surgery is on March 10th
webhopper replied to ferfur's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My daughter is 13 and she is super excited to have me be skinny again and she said she will love shopping for clothes with me and being able to do fun stuff with me when I'm a normal weight. She and I already share entrees at restaurants so that wont be a big change. -
After reading all of the posts it helps put things in perspective. Y'all are right; I'm doing this to save my health and to be able to enjoy being active with my husband and daughter. If it takes 13k to do it and quit the yo yo ing then I don't think I should be feeling guilty. I guess instead of feeling guilty I should feel lucky that I didn't wait til I hit the 300+ lb weight or 400+ lb weight like some of my family members. Its such an emotional roller coaster and my husband is so supportive and he believes this is the right thing too. He never said anything about the money because he said if I were to become disabled because of the weight like my mom it would drive him to drinking and he would go crazy.

I met my husband through online dating. If it were me I would wait til after surgery. My husband met me when I weighed about 198. I wasn't morbidly obese. So he was with me at a lower weight and at the higher weight and I know hes attracted to my body no matter what size it is. Some men are only attracted to bigger bodies and some men are only attracted to smaller bodies. I would suggest focusing on getting to your goal first and being happy with yourself before trying to meet a love match; otherwise the emotional rollercoaster may be too much for a new love interest to go through.

Jello made me nauseated in the hospital so I have been avoiding it like the plague!

I'm eating very runny oatmeal with strawberry unjury Protein powder mixed in; runny potato Soup with chicken unjury Protein Powder mixed in; and Protein shakes made with Greek yogurt; skim milk; protein powder and fruit blended. My surgeon says if it fits through a straw I can eat it. I am able to "eat" up to 2 oz before I have to stop due to the tightness. Sometimes I wait an hour and then try to eat another couple of ounces. Otherwise I just drink Gatorade low calorie mixed with Water. The Gatorade and water mix seems to be going down really well.

I am day 5 and I don't feel full; I just feel pressure on my breastbone and that's how I know to stop eating. I don't feel hungry either.

The idea that I cant indulge on eating an 8 oz ribeye and a baked potato with salad is a biggie for me. I will be happy when I can eat solid food again and maybe ill just order steak and potato from the kids menu.

Confused about eating for protein or hunger...
webhopper replied to browneyedgirl1981's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me; I don't feel full but I do feel a slight tightness in my chest; so then I stop eating. I have not been getting all of my protein in; but ive been getting around 30 to 40 grams. For my morning meal I have a shake with Greek yogurt skim milk and protein powder. For lunch I have soup with some protein powder mixed in. For dinner its the same. Right now I find that mixing half water and half low Cal Gatorade makes the fluids go down easier. Ive taken approximately 35 oz of Gatorade water mixture so far today and the day is still early. Its 2 pm my time zone. -
Too much liquid?
webhopper replied to AbbeyRachael's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can barely get 3 oz of water in per hour... I'm like sip sip sip. Yesterday I only managed to drink 35 oz of water total. I'm hoping that ill eventually be able to drink with more ease. -
My belly wasn't that big; most of my weight is in my thighs and Butt; I sleep the first part of the night on my back and half the night on my side. Once I coughed while on my side and it hurt so bad. I try to limit the coughing if I can

PCP will not support my decision to go to Mx
webhopper replied to Idahospud's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My PCP didn't actually agree with WLS but ultimately wasn't going to stop me either. I was very nervous but he finally signed off on it in march. I agree that you should start looking for a new PCP who is not morally opposed to weight loss surgery. -
For the love of GOD why am I so hungry ?!
webhopper replied to puchy123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you getting in some healthy fats like fish oils and /or monounsaturated fats like olive oil or avacadoes? I would suggest adding a few of these healthy fats to see if it makes a difference in your satisfaction. Also stomach acid can feel like hunger: try a tums when you are hungry to see if you can notice a difference. -

April 16th role call - who's with me!
webhopper replied to Bluesea71's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am very short waisted and I always felt the pressure on my bladder; but now I don't and its awesome. I am not getting that much fluids in ; I was only able to do about 36 oz yesterday of Water. I hope the not needing to pee isn't related to dehydration -
My first few days were like that; I could only drink an oz or so of liquid; that gets better as the swelling goes down. Any nausea??
-
Omg I'm right there with you; I am trying to take small sips but I can definately tell when the gas starts rolling around and its time to get io and walk and see if I can take some more of my pain medicine.
