I watch my 600 lb story, all the time, family hates it. But I feel a kindred-ness to some of the people and their struggles. Although I was never at that weight. Even though some are as tall as me 5'1,
Recently I was watching the show and my daughter, rolled her eyes and said Mom do you feel that big and I said sometimes. She said Mom that's sad, do you know how many of those people would love to be the size you are now? (onederland). Honestly I never thought about it that way. But I can say that's its made me more grateful for the weight I have gotten to !!!

So all you mommas, tell me if I'm wrong. I'm equating the preparation of WLS to first time pregnancy. 😂We read, educate ourselves, prepare, and plan. When it actually happens, seems as if reality is a bit different then all of our plans, but we "go with the flow" and all falls in to place anyway. All the preparation is not for nothing though, it gives us a better flow than to not been prepared at all. So, with that said, I know I'll be just fine.

HI all! I am 8 months out and I am curious if there is a great book out there for people who are further out than a few weeks. It is easy to find information for your first few months out but nothing after that. Any websites or books y'all can recommend? Thanks!

Just wanting to say hi. I guess I'm lucky as I noticed that in the USA you have to go through your private insurance to pay for surgery. In Canada all you need is your physician to send a referral to a clinic and our government pays for the surgery, that's how it works here in British Columbia anyway.
I FINALLY GOT MY SURGERY DATE AFTER WAITING FOR 5 YEARS! I guess that's one draw back of not having private insurance, you wait and wait.

Day one of pre-op diet in the books. The day was not bad, ( i know its only day one!) I consumed 4 protien shakes of various variety. One pre made Premier Protein Choc, and the other three made with two different protein powders in unsweetened vanilla almond or soy milk. three cups of broth/stock and one sf jello cup. (Broth, sf jello and sf popcicles are free foods)
Hopefully the next 12 days will be as successful!

4/4 - My Surgeon put me on the pureed/soft food stage. I am to introduce these foods slowly into my diet. He gave me a strict schedule that I am to follow. I am just excited that I can cut back on the shakes lol. He told me to start taking my vitamins on Sunday (4/9). They have to be chewable and to make sure I get the biotin because he knows how I am about my hair lol. I tried pickle juice last night. Bad idea. It gave me heart burn and made me burp a lot.
4/5 - Made two egg whites for breakfast with some WW cheese. I was able to get 10 tiny bites in before I got full. My heart hurts (they were delicious). I have all 6 of my meals prepped for today. I have a 6 oz pouch of tuna with light mayo and some cheese. (I am lactose intolerant but cheese is delicious). I will be alternating between the two for today.

My 2-month surgiversary is today! Down over 50 pounds since I started the pre-op diet in January, down 2 clothing sizes and one shoe size (back to my normal size 8). Completely revamped my closets with "new" clothes from storage. Stalled at the moment but hoping to see the scale move soon!

4th day post-op and still feeling pretty good! Admittedly, I'm getting a little bored with clear liquids (except for popsicles) and can't wait to switch to pureed foods and full liquids on Tuesday.
