    Pre op Liquid Diet Shakes

@orionburn injury on my list for post op I wonder why it's not listed for pre op?..hmmm. I ordered the unflavored one to add to soups and make shakes after surgery as well as the opurity chewable multivitamin. I'm going to inquire why it isn't listed for pre op.
  2. @CarmenVSG2017 hi Carmen. Best of luck to you. I'm supposed to be the 1pm case. My surgeon said stand by the day before as the time may move up. I'm not happy with an afternoon time at all. I want my surgeon to be nice and fresh after having his coffee when he opens me up but oh well.

    April surgeries

Hi there I'm April 11th as well
  9. Hi there. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. I'm scheduled to have a revision 4/11 and share some of the same concerns. It's totally normal to be emotional and sorta freaking out. Dehydration is a concern but I'm sure your surgeon has and will provide post op instructions on ways to avoid it. Some of us will breeze right through while others will struggle and experience dehydration. Pain varies also person to person. What I will say to you is no matter the struggles or hurdles we have to over come in the beginning they all pass. Hang in there and try to find comfort in the wonderful way your life is about to change in the long run. Always know in the back of your mind if it gets bad it will eventually get better. Hang in there and wishing you the very best on your WLS journey.

    Dr. Titus Duncan--Atl, GA

I considered using him for my revision. I will say he's an excellent surgeon I just found his staff quite a bit troubling. There are many reviews just google. I wish he would fix the staffing issues.

@hajoura-sweet ok that's very encouraging. What's funny is different things I've read spooked me so much I said I was emailing my surgeon Monday morning requesting to post pone another month. I'm telling you sometimes my mind becomes two shades in the wind off thinking of wayyyyy too much. I am so happy to hear you've done so well. I had VSG 4/14/14 and I remember saying to myself what on earth have you done. That feeling passed within the first week. Please keep in touch and share everything that comes to mind hahahahaha.

@bearhugs1975 I will definitelykeep in touch and you do the same. I'm so excited to have the burning stop and grateful for any additional weight loss that may come along with it. Are you having emotional roller coasters? I certainly am. One minute I'm super excited the next like right at this moment I'm scared out of my mind. In my heart of hearts I know I will be ok. @krisk12786 best of luck to you as well. I see your on the 20th.

    Looking for a Twin (03/07)

Hi there! I'm being revised from sleeve to RNY 4/11 due to severe GERD. From what my surgeon explained revision to RNY lose about 50% of their excess weight on average. That number could be more or less based on the individual. We are expected to lose at a slower rate than with our original surgery. There are some revision folks that loss quicker than their initial surgery but again we are all different. Pre-op and post-op diets also vary surgeon to surgeon. I have to do a 1 week liquid diet prior to my revision yet another person I follow on a different site only have to do liquids for 2 days prior to surgery. Wishing everyone much success on their upcoming WLS journey be it your initial surgery or a revision.

Anyone revised from sleeve to bypass

My surgeon said patients average about 50% of their excess weight with the revision and most times at a slower pace. The 50% is an average could be less or higher but definitely the best option for severe GERD. I HEAR A LOT of revision patients say they wish they had done it initially. They feel better than ever most have had no more issues with GERD and doing great weight loss wise.

    ARIL Surgery.

Has anyone started purchasing protein, supplements, or pre-op liquid diet stuff? I remember from my sleeve surgery purchased so much stuff that I tasted and loved before surgery the. Day of surgery something changed because all of it tasted like ass after surgery lol. Premier protein has always been great before and after surgery. Chike was good too.
  20. That's awesome. Keep me posted. I swear this is such an emotional roller coaster. One moment I'm excited the next scared out my mind of all the worst possibilities. Never imagined I would need a revision.
  21. I had severe nausea with my initial WLS and I'm praying with my revision it's much better. Hoping during my anesthesia pre op they come up with a plan to combat the nausea for me too. That was hell!! There is power in the struggle. Nothing worth having has ever come easy. Embrace the journey!!

    ARIL Surgery.

I'm having a revision from sleeve to RNY April 11th. Congrats to everyone and wishing you much success on your upcoming surgical journey.
  24. Jen I suggest having your surgeon do a peer to peer review with your insurance company. Many that were denied were able to get approved after the peer to peer. Sometimes coding is an issue too. Although bypass is a weight loss surgery revision most times isn't for weight loss but more so to fix a complication of surgery itself. Best of luck to you. Severe GERD is no joke!! I'm being revised from sleeve to RNY due to GERD. I have BCBS as well.
