Hey there how r u? R u feeling super excited? I will be sleeved in March. -
Hello everyone I'm from Conyers, GA will be sleeved in March. I'm super excited but equally nervous. I've just begun trying different protein drinks to have an idea of what I like and don't. My goodness this 6 months has just flown by.
-
Congrats to you. Keep us all posted in how your doing. Mines isn't until March but I totally share your excitement as well as the feeling of nervousness all at the same time.

Was seen by the Bariatrician at my surgeons office today. All went great but he threw me for a loop when he said my surgeon is requiring me to have a sleep study since I was diagnosed years ago with sleep apnea. Honestly I have never purchased nor slept on the machine but per my surgeon this isn't up for discussion it's her requirement not my insurance company's requirement but hers. Bottom line I'm definitely going to do anything she requires but I was shocked her stance was so firm on this. She explained sleep apnea untreated prior to bariatric surgery can be a huge cardiac issue. She was very descriptive and I trust her completely but was a little annoyed initially when I was told this because this wasn't on my list of pre-op things to be done.

my 600 pound life-pennys story
CurvyCakes replied to katt1584's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Katt I saw it but tuned in a bit late so I didn't realize The VSG is what Penny had. this WLS journey is definitely something we all have to be mentally prepared/ready for. Over the years I've had a horrible relationship with food. If I was bored I ate, something big happens it was oh let's celebrate with a huge meal, or when I was down I turned to sweets to pick me up. I'm definitely not proud if that but I'm thankful along this journey I've learned a few things about myself. Addictions are nasty and can be hard to break but definitely doable. I wish everyone much success during their own personal journey and if anyone is struggling with an addiction to food there is hope/help. The first step is acknowledging the problem exists. Put you a good support system in place, take it one day at a time, learn your triggers, plan ahead for lunches and outings with friends, don't be defeated by set backs as sometimes they do occur so just forgive yourself and move on. This is a journey not a race embrace it. We didn't put this weight on over night or settle into our unhealthy habits in a day so with the continued support we offer to one another on these boards and a CAN DO attitude we will all reach our goals. -

Lioness believe it or not I gave all of me to my family to the point I lost myself. It's like I put off any and everything dealing with me to fulfill the needs of my hubby, our children, my mother, and siblings. Sad to say if you had asked me what made me happy 1 year ago I probably couldn't have told you because my life had been taken care of and pleasing everyone else. If this is truly what YOU want then do this for you. From what I've read on here and my own personal experience this WLS journey is an emotional roller coaster. I won't be sleeved until March but I have times I'm so excited I can't sleep then other times I'm scared worrying about the what if's. I must say even with the emotional roller coaster I feel I've made the best decision in the best interest of me and can't wait for my big day to arrive and I'm sleeved. Hang in there! There is so much positive energy and support on these boards. I definitely enjoy having the ability to connect with others in various stages of the WLS journey. Best of luck to you and be sure to let us know how your surgery goes. Curvycakes -

I share the same emotional roller coaster ride of happy then scared. I'm starting to make my purchase for surgery list based on some of the advice of veteran Sleevers and hope to began collecting things slowly beginning next week. I've discovered some really cool things that was very helpful after surgery during recovery even while still in hospital. -

Hey there Lainey I see you've hit the one month mark. How are you feeling physically? I know it's still early but have you jumped on the scale yet or are you noticing looser fitting clothes? -
Happy Monday everyone. Hope your day went better than mines as it seem like it was one thing after another but I survived (big smile). I've discovered during my 6 month supervised diet that I'm an emotional eater and I'm so proud of myself for recognizing I was about to turn to junk food as a comfort this evening so I speed out of the Dunkin Donuts parking lot and brought my hips home.
