Hey Steph! How r u today?
-
Hey Hun. Sorry to hear ur having some pain but it will get better. Ok now that uve been sleeved tell me the good bad and the ugly about surgery day and ur hospital stay.
-
Sandee I couldn't agree with you more! The way I see it even if u don't agree or understand what I'm doing and why a TRUE friend supports u regardless. I don't regret sharing my decision either and all the negative things and thoughts folks have thrown in the game have given me that much more inspiration and motivation. This is our time we got this!!!

Congrats jewel. I can only imagine the excitement u must be experiencing right now. I wouldn't be able to sit still right now from anticipation.

Beth I haven't had my surgery yet as it's not until March but I understand ur concerns. I've been married for 22 years and my husband has been in my ear about this is irreversible and so many what if's. We surf the net together and as I've become more confident in knowing I've made the best decision in the interest of myself and my health he has settled down a lot. I would say the first thing is changing our mind and thoughts we have about ourselves. Forgive yourself for past failures and move on! Today is a new day and your headed to a new you. Yes we may have failed at other diets in the past which to me is why we have sought the help of this tool (VSG)! It's not magically but from what I've seen it's very helpful if we work it in the right way by making better choices and moving more...you got this you can do this and we r all here to support each other every step of the way one day one meal at a time.

JLS take a deep breadth! Tears, fears, and second guessing are all normal emotions right now as this is a huge life changing event. Our families love us and sometimes don't fully understand our PHYSICAL, mental, and EMOTIONAL struggles being obese! They just see what most times we allow them to see not the achey joints, slower pace, being winded with taking the stairs, or hetch in my case difficulty in crossing my legs. They worry about the risks involved with having the surgery but the reality I've tried to get my family and friends to see is the what about the risks associated with being obese?? Risk factors for heart disease, stroke, diabetes and so much more are equally or greater for me remaining over weight. Having this surgery has to be a personal decision in the best interest of what you think is best for YOU! Think back to a year ago and ponder why you embarked upon this journey to WLS. Weigh out the pros and cons. Envision where you can be 6 months to a year from now with and without the surgery. Trust your own gut and most of all trust God to see you through this. Just know change and the unknown is scary for us all. My surgery is in March and while I'm very excited I'm equally scared but nothing scares me as much as remaining in the unhealthy state I'm in right now. Regardless of what you decide we are all here to support you.

Hey there...I was nervous persay just didn't know what to expect. Mines went extremely well. He's worked with tons of bariatric patients even come in to do talks at group sessions so he was really able to connect some dots for me. So glad I went! Didn't like how I felt when he asked very direct questions about my childhood as that was a shocker I just thought the talk would be about WLS, my prep and relationships with food but it was far more. All in all mines was GREAT! -

"Never trade what you want most for what you want at the moment" In this WLS journey I find there are temptations everywhere. Turn on the tv it's filled with never ending food commercials, driving there's food advertisements on bill boards or fast restaurants on every corner, celebrations with friends, family and co workers seem to all be centered around food (not fruit and veggies either). With that said the thought provoking quote above have been very helpful in halting me from derailing all the great things I've put into play during my 6 months. By no means am I saying I'm perfect as I have my defeats like everyone else but it has definitely helped me take that extra time to say IS THIS TEMPORARY PLEASURE WORTH IT...nottttttttttt

Hey there! I will be sleeved in March and currently I'm trying to mentally prepare for my big day. My 6 months flew past soooo quick and I find myself every chance I get on this site and other blogs. In prep for my 2 week liquid diet I am trying various protein shakes and drinks. So far premier protein was good. I didn't find isopure tasty but is definitely a great protein powder for what we need it for. The isopure fruity protein water/drink apple melon so far was tolerable for me. I will Definitely drink it because 1 bottle is only 160 calories and a whopping 40 grams of protein. Planning to order Unjury this week as I've heard phenomenal raving reviews about all their products. Needless to say I'm super excited my surgery is so close and looking forward to my WLS journey.

Thank you and ur right time is flying but I want it right nowwww lol. What's crazy is I'm this excited and scared at the same time of getting a blood clot or not waking up from surgery. No matter what nothing scares me more than remaining in my current over weight unhealthy status so scared or not that sleeve is mines lol -
