My quality of sleep has gotten much better but this mask is leaving some serious bruises and skin irritations around bridge of my nose and face area. I've tried listening the head gear to see if that the issue but nope it isn't too tight. I'm really trying to adjust but I'm utterly frustrated. I tried the nasal pillows during my sleep study but omg that pressurized air directly in my nose was unbearable. Does anyone have any suggestions I know I have to sleep on this machine for my benefit but I'm really not pleased with what's happening to my skin around bridge of nose and mouth.

Thank u I will definitely check out the website.

Congrats to u! How soon did the diarrhea start on which day of ur liquid diet? I have problems in that area so that would be a welcomed issue for me. -

Go to www.insurnutrition.com there's a form to complete. The company sends a script to ur surgeon office for protein shakes, vitamins, and scar cream. Then they wi confirm ur insurance covers this benefit and if they do then every month for 6-7 months or in some cases people have relieved one big order containing like 75ish protein drinks the scar cream and vitamins all at no cost to u. My UHC said no not a covered benefit so I wasn't able to take advantage of this but many have. Good luck I hope ur plan covers it. I hear the charge the insurance company quite a bit if money and basically accept what they pay so they don't collect anything from u. As long as I didn't pay I didn't care what they charged my insurance considering we pay $600 plus per month for our family plan so any freebies would have been greatly appreciate lmbo. I hope u get it. -
Kindle what surgery did u have I noticed u only stayed one night. We have a 2 night stay going home on the 3rd day.

Thank u. I'm such a tech and internet junkie I usually can't go to sleep without my toys lol. I remember at sleep lab my tech was like ok put that up now time for bed we want to be able to capture at least 5-6 hours of sleep. I felt like big kid having to have someone tell me to put my toys away at this age lol. Question if the hospital won't allow mines will they provide me one?

I think ur thinking of taking baby steps of incorporating some healthy good habits now is a great idea. I have replaced my Breakfast with a Chike Protein shake and it's gone really well. I love the taste and believe it or not it holds me 3.5 - 4 hours which is perfect in time for lunch. I've made healthier choice meal by meal day by day and wear a watch pedometer that I usually average about 12,000 steps a day. My highest have been a little over 17,000 steps in a day. I felt like a total celebrity at my group nutrition class when my NUT inquired how many steps did I get in the day before and when I clicked back to see I was like holy moly 17, 130ish she walked over and said WOW tell us how u got that many steps in in a day they began passing my watch around folks were asking me questions left and right I was like yeah baby something I'm proud of for once lol. I felt like u getting a head start so my new lifestyle won't be a total shocker all at once and I whole heartedly believe we've made the right choice. I have met so many great friends that have encouraged me to eat bad because I won't be able to after surgery but I'm too afraid of my weight easily creeping back up to a whopping 245 and I'm just 5'2. Although for the first time in forever I indulged in of all things Burger King and had a whopper junior meal with cheese felt do disappointed in myself but I've forgiven myself and moved on. Good luck to u.

Girl u got this. That outfit is definitely doable.

I find my NUT very helpful and recommend at the very least see a NUT for a few visits to ensure ur getting what ur body will need after surgery.
-
Wow no Gas-X so many said they used it and it came in handy. Thanks for the heads up on it being contraband lol. How long was ur hospital stay?
-
Tammy yes ma'am I forgot those two things. I'm a lip gloss/Eco sphere junkie I have to have that and the heating pad many said was very helpful. Throwing those in the pile too.

Any April 28th Sleevers out there; need to connect!

Diane I'm sorry u have lost ur excitement. Maybe take some time to reflect on why u began this WLS journey and the benefits u will reap. Maybe envisioning urself at goal or envisioning having to do all the things uve been limited doing being over weight. We have 3 children one of which is my 22 year old daughter that's having VSG surgery on the same day as myself so I totally understand not wanting to miss the upcoming bday celebrations including ur own but many more bdays will come but will this opportunity be here for u next year or the year after? Idk about u but I have some health issues as a direct result of being obese and even more so than losing the weight I want those issues to go away. I hope u find something that sparks ur excitement again but in the end this is a personal decision that only u can make. Whatever u decide is best for u to have the surgery or not we all support u. Wishing u the best and if we don't speak again Happy BDay! -
Oh my!! Your day is around the corner!!! Do you have a 2 week liquid diet to start? Please, stay in touch!! Yup I start it on the 1st yikes I'm so dreading I it lol

Jackie congrats to u! U will find that u will have an array of emotions between now and ur surgery just know it's normal we all experience it. I go from super excited to scared to death. I'm so ready to officially be a sleever! When's ur surgery? Mines April 14th -
Thank you!! You have opened my eyes to the risks more than the dr could. I'm going to start wearing it tonight! I am a nervous wreck about the surgery so I need to do this. Thanks...I will keep you posted! When is your surgery? Yes pls wear it and most of all keep me posted. My date is April 14th

Mine has the modem too but I have 90 days to become compliant. I have had it for 2 months so I really need to start getting used to it. Not to mention, my husband woke me twice last night because I wasn't breathing and I have to use it for three consecutive weeks before my surgery on 5/7 so I really need to just do it!!Ur surgery coming fast so u better get on it dawg gone it.....rotflmbo. I didn't want to get this machine as nothing about it is sexy but when my doctor explained the serious risks of having the surgery with untreated sleep apnea it scared the sugar honey iced tea out of me and I sleep on that sucker faithfully every night looking like I belong on Silence of the Lambs. No but seriously pls start sleeping on it sleep apnea is puts a strain on our heart and other organs and it's not worth the risks.
-
Well mines came with a modem so that the Dr can see if I'm using it, how often, and the amount of time I sleep on it. He can even adjust the ramp remotely. I told the tech this is wayyyyy too much info to be readily available to u all she replies yes this is for none compliant patients like urself so we can keep the big eye on u....needles to say I said girl hush box up my new form of birth control so I can beat this traffics home. The quality of my sleep is hands down much better but I don't want to walk around with grooves and bruises on my face either so something has got to give.
-
Yup I was on the receiving end of stares that began in the waiting room as well as unkind unsolicited comments from co workers that got word I was having the surgery. For me it's no secret I'm having WLS but it isn't a community decision either. I began this WLS journey at 245lbs standing at just 5'2 so yes I FREAKING NEED THIS SURGERY TOO! Luckily for me all the extra padding for the most part fell in all the right places hips and behind or my deep dark secret would be public knowledge lol. I've had so many unpleasant conversations with unsupportive friends and family but not one of these people can feel the pain I feel daily in my knees, joints, and back. These r my swollen ankles and feet that hurt just to stand on them for long periods of time or me being winded going up a flight of stairs. Looks can be deceiving but just because a person my not be as heavy as some others doesn't mean we aren't equally as unhealthy and in desperate need of help. I honestly believe in NEVER judge anyone as we all fall short somewhere or another.

My surgery date is April 14th and u start my liquid diet on April 1st. Have u purchased all the things u need. -
The machine at the sleep lab didn't have the ramp feature at least I didn't think that it did because that force was STRONG!! On my machine I have the ramp feature and I start at 8 and end at 12. I wonder if the pillows would feel different on my machine than at the sleep lab. Worth a try.
