There is no turning back now. Paid all my fees, got all my supplements. I'm ready to go. Pre-op diet starts next Wednesday. June 25th here I come.
-
I have set a goal for myself to be 300 or below on the day of my surgery. I haven't started my pre-op diet yet, I am sure I can meet my goal by the end of the 14 days. My pre-op diet starts next Wednesday. I have pre-op next Thursday at the surgeon's office for 4 hours then I go to the hospital to do all their pre-op stuff. I am going to be real busy that day. I have never met my surgeon, but he is really well known in my area. So I am kinda nervous about meeting him. I did see him a few times when I was in respiratory therapy school. So I have seen some of his work up close. I plan on getting the house cleaned up real good the six days between pre-op and surgery. I'm only supposed to be in the hospital one night, so to much destruction can't possibly happen with just my hubby and dogs at home alone one night. Of course, I could be wrong.

I've made it to the 14 days left mark, it's all nerves and emotions from here. I am picking up all my protein and supplements from the surgeon's office tomorrow. I am paying my dietitian fee as well. My insurance is picking up the tab for the surgery. I am getting so excited I can hardly sleep. Can't wait to be on the other side.

Congrats, you are on your way to a healthier you. The 6 month wait period will go by faster than you know. Do all the homework you can while you are waiting. Being prepared is a good thing.

Anyone else not want family sticking around after surgery?
jtickle replied to NicoleSW's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I told my husband to go home after my surgery since there will be nurses to care for me and I will be sleeping most of the time. He was fine with that plus we have dogs so he will have to care for them for a couple of days. I am only staying in the hospital overnight, so he said he would be back in morning when I am feeling better. Obviously, he will have to drive me home. -
How Long til Back to Work?

My surgeon says normally people take off two weeks, but it also depends on how physically demanding your job is. -
Did you have your endoscopy in an outpatient center or at the hospital?
jtickle replied to Natasha Estrada's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine outpatient. -
I have started my pre-op diet early as well, it's not to bad but it isn't straight liquid. I am trying to meet my personal goal of 300 or less on surgery day. I'm doing pretty good so far. :-)

Most of the time when a plan excludes weight loss surgery nothing can be done. There usually isn't anyway around it.

My surgery is the 25th as well.

I just sent a request for the Facebook page.

Best Protein Supplements
jtickle replied to cpinnell1977's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried muscle milk, It taste like chemicals to me. I threw it out. Right now I am using pure protein plus from sam's club. It's only 17 dollars for a big container. -
3 weeks until my big day. Starting my pre-op diet today, because I want to meet my goal that I set for myself of being 300 or lower on the day of my surgery. I am not nervous or anything I have had a bunch of surgeries already. I am just ready to get it over with, I am tired of counting down the days.

My endoscopy was relatively simple. I laid on my left side, the doctor came in and explained what he was going to do. There was an anesthesiologist there that gave me some good sleepy meds and then I woke up. He told me the results and gave some pictures when I got back to my room. Pretty straightforward. I don't know if they will put you to sleep or not, every doctor is different.

I am trying to decide what birth control to be put on. Can we take the pill after the bypass? Will it still be as effective? I don't plan on having children from a long time. Should I go for something like Mirena or nexplanon? I know I will have to talk to my doctor about it. I just need some opinions.

24 days left!!! It will be here before I know it. Pre-op diet starts in 17 days. I am so ready.

Got on the scale this morning and I lost another 2 pounds. I am only 5 pounds away from my surgery day goal of 300. Only 26 days left until surgery. 19 days left until my pre-op appointment. Hope it goes by quickly!!

The anesthesiologist gave me something that made me sleep thru the whole EGD. Last thing I remember about was the doctor telling me that I was going to feel a burn in my IV, didn't even feel that.

We can be surgery buddies!!! I am also scheduled on the 25th of June. I have a whole list of health issues to. I have sleep apnea, pcos, diabetes, and I have also had 6 surgeries on my back. I am hoping the weight loss will help my back and resolve my diabetes. I am also hoping losing weight will help with my pcos, cause I want to have a baby. I know all about isolation and hiding from strangers. My husband always want to sit in a booth when go out. I am always afraid I won't fit in the in the booth. You will have all the support you could ever want on this website. Only 26 days left. It will be here before we know it. If you ever need someone to talk to feel free to message me. Messages get sent to my phone, so I can respond fairly quickly.

My handbook says to take one bottle at noon the day before surgery. I have only had it once and it did the job.

I have GERD and my doctor bluntly told me no to the sleeve. They said my heartburn would get extremely bad if I got the sleeve. I was upset for a minute about not being able to get the sleeve, but I need to lose weight so I decided to go with the RNY instead.

Need help please. Cannot find a WLS program! Health in danger...

I don't have borderline personality disorder, but I do have severe bipolar disorder. It is so bad that if I am not on my meds that I am a harm to others, not myself. My personal psychiatrist wrote a letter to my surgeon stating that I am capable of making my own decision about surgery. Another option could be have your therapist contact your surgeon personally. -
I have to do bowel prep with magnesium citrate. It's a real good at cleaning you out. It can be purchased in several flavors at any drug store or Wal-Mart. It's only a couple of dollars. I have had it before, it's not the best tasting stuff but it will do the job. Good luck with your surgery.

I started my process on March 3rd and my surgery is scheduled for June 25th. The only test I had to to do was an egd.

Batiatric advantage protien ahake?
jtickle replied to Gettinsmall's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I haven't tried the unjury unflavored, but the gnc pro performance naturally unflavored doesn't have a strong taste or smell. It doesn't have an aftertaste either. I made smoothies with it. You could mix it with just about anything as long as it doesn't get over 140 degrees. Protein changes above 140 degrees.
