    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Hi.- 1st day home and improving each hour. Have not felt hungary until my family made spaghetti andeatballs for dinner. Although I didn't physically feel hungary, I missed being able to taste it. I guess head hunger is real. My biggest complaint has been the extra air and gas in my chest and shoulder. Keeps me kind of restless.

    Louisiana Sleevers?

Hi Louisiana Friends- I had surgery on Tues. and got home last night. All went well and I'm steady sippin. It almost didn't happen. The day before, my surgeon, Dr. Lavin, had to leave town with emergency; they were going to reschedule following week. My parents had already made a trip to stay with me and my girls for the week. After freakin' for a moment I asked if another doctor was available. Luckily, Dr. Clark Warden could and he proved to be a wonderful doc! I ended up having two hernias repaired as well as my sleeve. Yesterday, the worst pain was the gas or leftover air around your chest and arms. The gas drops help a little, but truly getting up and walking the halls helped the most. My 1st night was restless and I had a little anxiety, but have improved today. Have been taking it easy and using my fitness pal app to keep track of my liquid intake. Don't feel hungary, but do miss tasting what my family's been eating. Just trying to follow everything as I'm told. Good luck to those gearing up for their big day!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I did it! Just woke up (for the 20th time) and feeling my best yet. Everything went smooth; as it turned out I had two hernias that had to be repaired. That's causing me more pain than sleeve area. The biggest issue is definitely gas trapped in upper chest. It's finally going down, but gave me a fit last night. Have only had ice chips and small water sips. Tried Popsicle, but made me nauseous. Nurses have been great. My mom went home to stay with my girls last night. I did have a little freak out around midnight; felt hot and in pain. Nurse asked if I have anxiety issues; well - yes! I take Ativan which I hadn't had in days. Once she gave me some, the whole pain and comfort level improved. Hoping to get home soon. Stay in touch everyone!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Hi all- tomorrow is the big day! It was almost cancelled because my doctor had a personal issue that's taken him out of town. So another doctor, Clark Warden, will sleeve me tomorrow morning. I had a bit of a freak out this morning. Parents came in from out of town, children's schedules made, groceries bought. Just couldn't deal with having to postpone. I am anxious but ready. Blessings to all having your surgery tomorrow. Thanks for the support. P.s. Could eat the paint off the walls I'm so hungry with the clear liquid only today.

Claire- sorry your having to deal with the schedule change. They cancelled mine today due to my doctor having a personal emergency. Offered another doctor in the practice in his place, so still on for 11 in the a.m. Many blessings for a safe surgery, I'm ready and hungry after having clear liquid all day.

    February Surgeries

Thanks for the kind words, Claire. I went for pre- op this morning and the staff and nurses were so kind and very in tune. My nurse said she had WLS last year and is so pleased. I left feeling encouraged and less nervy. So glad I have you guys, because I can't really go into the nitty gritty of how I feel. The main thing I feel anxious about is not the surgery as much as a fear of having the same cravings and compulsion for food afterwards. Best wishes to all of you in recovery. Only three more days to go!

Hey Erin- If you can get it, Isopure or Protein Ice is clear. It might not taste the best, but it might be an easier way to get your protein. Hang in there.

Jamie puff - Wow! I'm so excited for you, too! Sounds like it went well. Ok- I'm not going to stress about not having all liquid. Did you have Dr. Lavin or someone in his practice for surgery? Let's keep in touch.

So- they just asked you to follow a certain amount of calories? Or were the types of food you ate restricted? How are you doing now?

Hi All- Surgery scheduled with Dr. Lavin on Feb. 11! My pre-op diet is not all liquid, just calorie restricted. Anyone else experience this? Hmm. Getting nervous; lots of weird dreams. Keep in touch, La. Peeps !

    February Surgeries

Hi all- I was just scheduled for Feb. 11th. Going through all these weird emotions and definitely the food mourning. They have me on a restricted diet, but not all liquid. Hmm. Would love to stay in touch with y'all as I feel very isolated in the friends and family I can confide in about my day to day thoughts around this.
