I had gastric sleeve surgery on Oct. 7, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Warren, OH by Dr. Robert Woodruff. I would recommend Dr. Woodruff's program to everyone and anyone. They are very, very thorough and really care about you. My surgery was on Monday morning and I was out of the hospital by lunchtime the next day. I had laprascopic, robot-assisted surgery. I can honestly say that I had no pain whatsoever. I didn't even need to take as much as a tylenol. The hardest part for me was dry mouth immediately after surgery and they can't give you anything except ice chips for the first 24 hours. So far, I have had no complications at all. I've been able to follow the protein, vitamins and diet. I do feel hungry sometimes but then I eat my little 4 oz portion of whatever I'm allowed to have and feel like I've been to a buffet. I struggled with the decision to do this for years and I really wish I hadn't. I am already off of my blood pressure and diabetes meds. My arthritic knees feel so much better already and it's only been 3 months. This has definitely been the best decision for me.
