January Surgeries
Reborn@50 replied to KimberlyBlakely's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Vicki Fear is normal, it's the unknown, that is the main culprit. Accept that you are scared don't deny it or try to cover it up. Embrace fear, it's what makes us compassionate and keeps us on proper paths. Like the proper path you are taking with your health, and it is a tough brave choice. Bit nothing great in life, comes without great sacrifices or taking great chances. Where and who is doing your surgery and what type? -

Any January 2014 Surgeries?
Reborn@50 replied to MekeC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck!!!!!!! Will be over before you know it. Just remember to walk all you can, speeds healing and help you get rid of the gas they pump in you. Pain should be very minimal. -
Being scared is not only normal, but this is a major surgery combined with a lifestyle change, so that magnifies the apprehensions. But if this decision and chosen path were easy, everyone would do it. The fact that we are all here, pre-op, post-op, etc. and supporting each other shows more dedication, courage and love than moments of fear any of us here possess. We are here, you will never be alone.

Scared to be a failure...yet again...
Reborn@50 replied to hmjdreamingbig's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Fear of failure keeps us honest with ourselves. I am 5 days Post Surgery (bypass) and still on clear liquids, so sick of sweet lol. But, it's all as stated, a lifestyle change and if those like us continue to help each other we got this. -
LOL funny to hear I'm not alone then. Great news now is that my wife has agreed in 6 months to approve me a brand new Camo ansemble. Lololol

4 days Post Op and I can tell you, if you follow the advise of the surgeons, nurses and do as they request this surgery is so much less than what you possibly are thinking. Have I had one bad day? Yup, sure did and as a pretty gruff 48 yr old hunter, veteran and self proclaimed manly man; it scared the jolly Rodgers outta me (2 instances of throwing up blood night I came home), BUT...WORRY on my part was the worst. 5th day today, down 35 or so lbs (with pre-op diet) and daily it's easier by leaps and bounds. Walk and keep hydrated, priority for first week, you will be just fine. This is a great app and the folks on here are open, honest and very helpful. You are about to be reborn, great news !!!!!!!
