    milk making me sick?

I didn't but several of my friends did. Some people come out of surgery lactose intolerant but it should get better eventually.

Me too! It didn't happen at first, but it's been awful the past few weeks so I've been watching my carbs and sugar a lot more. I ate a banana the other week and my blood sugar was 57 a while later. I

I didn't think it was that bad. I had the grape flavor because it was clear and it was just really sour.

    Post Op March 2014

How's everyone doing 4 months out? I feel great. I have been having some issues with low blood sugar but I'm trying to be extra vigilant about watching out for carbs and sugar and that's helping. Here I am. Down almost 80lbs and 1 pair of glasses. I had Lasik and PRK before my WLS after wearing glasses since I was in first grade so needless to say my overall appearance has changed a lot the last year.

Anyone gotten a hair cut recently? Mine needs it bad, my surgery was 4 months ago and I had it cut about a week before but I'm a little self conscious about how much of it's falling out now. Don't really want to have to explain or have someone try to sell me something lol I hope you all don't mine me posting in this thread, my surgery was so early in March I feel I'm more in line with the February people.
  7. Mine was good. We went biking. I rode the 18 mile trail and I wasn't even that tired afterwards. We went out to dinner with family at a BBQ place so that was easy. Just split a plate with my husband. We are doing a cookout tonight and I'm a little more leery of that. I just picked a bunch of veggies from my garden to grill so at least I know I'll have that to eat.

    not voiding regularly since surgery

I'm the same way now. It's weird, I used to go every hour. Sometimes I'll be at work all day and realize I haven't been once. I figure it's just that you're not putting as much in, so not as much comes out.

    Eating too much too soon?

The first few weeks it's hard to tell when you're full. Once you heal and your nerves heal, you'll feel it. That's why they stress measuring so much in the beginning. I wouldn't feel full, but I knew not to eat more than two-three ounces at a time.

    tuna, chicken, pork.... meats!

Are you eating cooked regular meat like a chicken breast for lunch meat? You might be able to tolerate lunch meat better. I believe I was also eating lots of cheese and crackers at that state and pb2.

My hair has been falling out like crazy for a little over a month. My hair was so thick though so no one can really tell. It still took me 3 elastics to put it up Saturday lol

Training for a 5 k - BIG deal for me!

Congrats! I know you can do it. I'm doing a 4.3 miles on August. I don't know if I can run it, but I'm at least going to walk it. I tried couch to 5k on the treadmill and gave myself a nasty case of bronchitis so I'm going to have to work my way up just to start couch to 5k.

    Pain & constipation day 5

At Walgreens you can find a tea called "smooth moves" tea. It will help with the constipation and it will feel good on your pouch. It was a life saver for me. It works overnight and i thought it was easier to get down than miralax. I still use it sometimes now.

    Fluid retention postop

I gained 15lbs in the hospital. Just enjoy it for now. It will be hard to get enough water down but all that extra fluid will keep you hydrated for a few days. Like the previous poster said, give it about a week and it will flush.

I've done this serval times. I had a bunch of clothes put back from a friend who had surgery too and most of the time when I think "that won't fit yet" it does. I'm between a 16 and an18 right now my 18s are all too big though.

Has anyone being finding a bunch of random bruises? I've got two giant matching bruises on both my legs right now. The only thing I can figure out it's from where my knees are boney now and they push into my legs in myself.

    beyond frustrated

At almost 4 months post op here is what I've learned and come to accept. Not matter how fast you lose, it's going to feel slow to you especially when you're comparing yourself to others. You're going to stall no matter what. Sometimes it might be for a day, sometimes it might be for a couple of weeks. It sucks, but it will pass. Just keep doing what you're suppose to be doing. Yes, not weighing every day is really hard, but it does help. At some point in a few more months you'll get to your "holy sh*t" moment and you'll know it was all worth it and you won't be as annoyed by what the scale day to day. You'll get some non scale victories, and it won't matter as much, you'll fit into a crazy small pair of pants, or find out your blood pressure is great for the first time in years. So, be patient, which is easier said than done, it's all going to work out.
  20. We had a free health screening at work so I figured id see what my numbers were looking like almost 4 months post op. My cholesterol was down from a little over 200 a year ago to 109 now which is great and my blood pressure was perfect but my glucose levels were low. It was only 57 which seemed to concern the person taking it. I ate a banana about an hour before. Anyone know if this is a normal glucose level for an RNY patient? Or could it be reactive hypoglycemia from the banana?

    Six Flags

I'm going to six flags over Georgia next weekend and I'm pretty nervous about it. Last time I went I was at least 320lb, but maybe a bit higher, and a size 24. I couldn't fit on a few if the rides, and some were uncomfortable, to say the least. I should be at 240 by next weekend and I'm a 16/18. My weight is fairly evenly distributed. Even though I'll be down at least 80lbs from my first visit I'm still so nervous that I won't fit. I know they have the test seats I can try, but I'm still going to be so disappointed if I don't fit. I was mortified last time. I keep telling myself a 16 is just a tiny bit above an average size so I should fit. Anyone have any advice, words of wisdom or encouragement.

    Six Flags

We had so much fun! I had two nerve racking moments. One was on a Water slide. A sign was posted that said there was a 250lb weight limit, I normally would have just tried to slide by and hope they didn't check but then I realized I didn't even have to worry about it anymore which was really nice. I got on the batman ride and I was so nervous because that's the one that was a no go last time. Well it didn't "click" I was almost heart broken, and then I realized it's not suppose to click, you have to buckle yourself. I buckled the seat with no issue and had a couple of inches to spare. It was a great feeling. So I had no issues what so ever and I didn't have to spend a dime on food. It was so crowded we didn't get to ride very many rides and in dying to go back. Charlotte is a little closer so I think we're going to go get a season pass for Carowinds and spend our vacation there.

Newbie with a story to tell

Congrats on your surgery! You're only a week out now so don't stress too much about protein. Get in as much as you can and you'll be able to get in a little more each day. Make sure you're getting in as much water as you can, crystal lite does help.
