    Eating at 3 months out

Very helpful. I find that as time passes by since my surgery, I am feeling okay with the lifestyle changes I am making. Its okay to not eat as I once did. I am loving the results I am seeing. Checking nutritional labels is routine and planning my meals is necessary. So glad to see you are making good choices.

    My Weightloss Pic

From the album: My Weightloss Journey

Picture of me June 7, 2014. Surgery performed April 24, 2014. 30 lbs...70 lbs till I reach my goal.
  4. Your post reminded me of how I was when my hubby has wls and I wasnt sleeved. I feel bad looking back as now I have had wls and would be pissed off if hubby bought cinnamon buns in the car (they are my fav sweet lol). Good job on sticking with good choices.

    This is so difficult!

I feel like you do some days Tanya but I remind myself to give it time. Things will improve. I see my husband who is 6 months out from weightloss surgery and he is much happier. I remind myself that I will get to that point soon. This procedure has taught me that I have an unhealthy relationship with food. I ate too fast, put too much food in my body, and I grazed all day. Everyday is a struggle but nothing in life so worthwhile comes easy.
  6. I find myself struggling as well. I have to slow myself down and that helps with getting the shake down.no one was a pro when they starting eating post op. Getting into some sort to rou tine always helps.
  7. I am 5 days post op and still on full liquids. My doc says I can try an egg on thursday. If I can keep it down , I move onto soft foods for 2 weeks. Dontbeat yourself up over not meeting the 800 calories goal each day. Just try to do a little bit every day. You will get better.
  8. I was sleeved on April 24th. I dont have hunger but I did suffer from nausea. My surgeon discovered I had a hiatal hernia so he repaired it. I keep getting this growling sound..does anyonr get this? Glad hear everyone did pretty good on thir surgery.

    What is your Pre-op Dirt?

My pre op diet consisted of a shake up to 5 times a day, SF jello, chicken broth, crystal light, decaf tea/coffee for 2 weeks. The day before surgery clear liquids.

    Eating Anxiety...

I hope and pray that you see someone about your concerns. Your body needs more than the sugar-free chocolate Easter eggs, wanton soup, and teaspoon of Peanut Butter that you gave it. It's great that you reached out on the forum for help but I believe what you need is much deeper than what readers can offer. Fall back on what your nutritionist taught you. You can never go wrong with that.

    2 weeks post op

That is so good to hear. I love spicy food and I am fearful that I may lose my tolerance for it after surgery. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    Hunger Pains

My husband is 5 months out and does not complain of being hungry. He basically has to remind himself to eat. However, another family member of mine, complains of hunger. So I think it depends on the person. It is a weird concept for me. I guess I will find out tomorrow when I have my sleeve procedure.

    Tomorrow!

Good luck to everyone!! My surgery is tomorrow (Thursday) and I am nervous as ever but excited. I feel like I struggled to get here but now I am scared of what life will be like after I have the procedure done.
  16. I think 5 pounds is great!! I am nearing the end of my pre-op diet and found that I only lost 5 lbs after day 8 and now I am down 12 lbs. I think my body was trying to adjust to the drastic changes I did to it. Try to not be so hard on yourself. If you overly concern, it may be helpful to contact your nurses or surgical staff to see if there is any goal weight loss you have to meet.

    Moving quickly

There is no issue with being prepared and active in planning your appointments. I think it is a good thing. No one better to advocate for yourself than you.

    canker sore.

Whenever I get canker sores, my best friend is Carmex. Clears the canker sore right away. Not sure if this is a safe recommendation but I have not had any side effects to using Carmex. My understanding is that canker sores tend to be caused by stress, injury, and intake of acidic or citrus foods but this is just my personal guess as I am not a doctor.

    Pre op diet advice

What sort of restrictions are you to follow during your pre-op? I have (2) children as well. It is hard but you will have to be strong. What has been helpful for me during my pre-op is, my mother has made food a head of time and I just heat the food up and feed the kids. I also look at quick meals such as frozen dinners etc. to feed the kids. I have realized that with this surgery, my husband and I are practically purchasing foods for our kids and less for ourselves.

    Im about to faint

Hey Tallysfunny, Have you had you Iron levels checked? Sounds similar to what I deal with on a daily basis with anemia. I bruise easy, feel faint and dizzy at times. I have not had my procedure yet (1 week left) but I wanted to see if perhaps your doctors check your hemoglobin levels. Just curious
