Yes, I am due to have mine on April 23rd -
I have been patiently waiting for a couple days now to get a phone call from Surgery coordinator at surgeon's office for my surgery date. She sent me an email yesterday said she would call me today providing she had received my report from the cardiologist that I saw the other day. Do you think I should call the cardiology clinic and see if they sent my paper work over to surgeon's office or do you think I should just wait for her to call me? I am so ready to start my journey into a new me

Has anyone tried Core Power protein drinks? Just wanted to see how good they are not good?
-
Has anyone ever tried "Core Power" protein drinks? I am trying to find a protein shake that doesn't have that chalky after taste. Anyone have any suggestions? I have already tried "Premier Protein" and didn't like it.
-
Thank you for the suggestions, I will try them out and see. I know I have to get my protein in but I have a hard time with the thickness of the shakes as I am not a big shake drinker to begin with.

I am so frustrated right now it's unbelievable. So my surgeon wants me to get clearance from my cardiologist through a note or letter. My surgery is probably going to be end of April. So I call my cardiologist office and asked about it and the gal said that the doctor has to see you to do that. so I try and set up an appointment and they don't have any openings until end of May. This is the last thing I have to do to move forward to getting my date. I am so upset that this is my hold up now, when the cardio doc just saw me less than 6 months ago. I must mention, I don't really have any cardio problems as I was referred to see her because I thought I was having chest pains but turned out to be just panic pain. So not sure why I even need her permission. Do you think I should call my surgeon's office and let them know and see if we can just not go through with the cardio doc thing?

I am really sick, been up off and on through the night. Can't keep anything down not even the shakes and I am on my liquid diet now. I don't know what to do to get my protein in today with my feeling this way. Anyone have any idea's?

I should have mentioned that I am pre-op. I am going to call my dr and see if she can prescribe me some zofran (anti-nausea medicine). I can't do this all day. I have my endoscope tomorrow, so I want to feel better before I go in for it. I tried drinking a shake to only have it come back up. UGHH

Lisa00 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to know if it is necessary to drink Protein shakes, can't you get the protein through food? I am having a hard time with drinking these shakes and I am drinking the premier Protein drinks from costco, not sure I am liking the taste of them. -

I am pre-op and thanks for all the comments and advise -
I am on my pre-op diet and having a hard time drinking the protein drinks. I currently am drinking the premier protein ones from Costco, the chocolate flavor. I don't really care for the thickness of it as I have never been a fan of any kind of shakes. Do you think it would hurt if I poured it over ice and drank it that way?

Anyone From Oregon, having wls or has already had it
Lisa00 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi all, I was just checking to see if there are any Oregon wls people out there to talk to. I am pre-op just waiting to see the surgeon next week and hope to get a surgery date then as well. -
Hi all I was wondering what the best multivitamin and Calcium Citrate chewables are the best to get and that have some flavor. Thanks
-
I am finally seeing the surgeon on Tuesday and I am sure she is going to ask me questions. I don't know what to say if she asks me "Why do I want to have the sleeve over the bypass". Did any of you get asked this and what did you say?
-
So I just got a phone call from the sleep study place where I did my sleep study last week, yup turns out I have sleep apnea and have to go back in for another test with the machine on me. Then they will fit me with a machine as my surgeon requires it before surgery. I have to be using it for 2 weeks before she will give me a surgery date. Has anyone else ever gone through this?

Does anyone know if you have to wear the cpap machine during surgery?

Hi all, I have just been put on a 600 calorie diet a day by the bariatric endocrinologist at my surgeon's office. Has anyone else been put on this low of a calorie diet? If so what did you eat or drink. The endo I saw said I could have ONE healthy choice frozen meal and two or three Protein drinks or shakes a day. Thanks

I have to do this pre-op diet for 6 weeks, is that normal?

Any type 2 diabetics who are insulin dependant out there?
Lisa00 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a few questions for you in regards to having surgery done if you are on insulin. Were you ever told you had to be off all insulin before you could even have any WLS done? Also how low of a calorie diet were you put on before the surgery? Thanks -
Hi all, I am new and am pre-op right now but I had a couple questions for post op people. First, When you first start loosing weight, where do you notice it first on your body? Second, Can you drink caffeine after surgery? Thanks
