I need some guidance. x

I'm meant to say 12 weeks post op. X
2. Evening all. I could do with some help. I've reached restriction and I'm struggling to eat sensibly. Most days I have snack a jack rice cakes, salad, hot choc/tea sometimes muller rice. I'm finding a lot of food just won't go down. Am I going to lose weight eating this little? I don't really feel hungry ever, I also don't drink any Water other then in tea. The scale hasn't moved for 3 weeks even though I can see my body changing. It's surprising to see how much my wedding dress has been bought in from fitting to fitting! Final fitting done now. Getting married next week! I really wanted to loose another 10 lbs to put me at 18st but I just can't shift it. I'm 12 weeks banded. Help! Dress photos show 3 weeks ago and yesterday! I need some guidance. x

Hi all, so I'm now 22 weeks post op. I've lost a lovely 35lbs but the scales haven't moved for the last month! I'm really not happy. I eat so little and it's not showing. What are the key things you find to shift the weight? I'm getting married next weekend and really hoped I would be 18 stone. I'm 10 lbs away from that goal. Feeling really low. I had my second fill of 2 ml 2 weeks ago giving me 6mls in my 10ml band. I feel restriction now. I'm having roughly 300-400 cals a day. I have a couple of cups of tea but that's about it Fluid wise. Please help me. The pics attached are op day/today. And pre op/Sunday. Xx

Tightness normal?

Hi, I got my band yesterday, im feeling tightness too. I've only manged water, tea, a very runny yoghurt and some fruit puree. Might try some soup shortly. I'm really struggling with the gas pain, my belly feels soo bloated and sore. Urgh! I'm looking forward to getting past the healing stage. Xxx

5 months post-op on January 27th!

Inspiring. Thank you for posting. X
6. Morning all. I know it's soo hard to stick to it but it's worth it. I had my op ....guess it's yeaterday now! It's 4 am here. Been up every two hours need pain relief. Op went smoothly a liver was tiny. I even lost 16lbs on the pre op so I'm thrilled with that! Xx
7. Evening everyone. Hope you are all well. Just an update for you. I had my surgery at 9am today. I'm back in my room, have been since about 1pm, just keep nodding off!! Op went well, I have a 14 ml band which the surgeon put 3 ml in. I had a rough wake up/recovery so stayed in recovery a long time. I've had a fair bit of morphine through the day. Got hellish wind pain in my shoulder, I've had so much pain relief and peppermint tea as well as gripe Water. It's just not shifting. Can't stop burping so that must be helping. Lol. I have 6 incisions two bandaged the others are glued. I'm having pain on my left side when I breathe deeply, think that's where my port is. Managed to drink some water, only tiny sips though as I can feel that it's tight. Had a small cup of tea too so starting to feel more human. All in all its not so bad. I'm enjoying being able to sleep and rest for a while. I don't get to do this with a toddler and a baby. I've heard from my partner and he's doing great with the girls. It's it's first time having them on his own! Lol. He's a fab dad so I knew he'd be ok. It's now 2am and I've had my morphine topped up. I highly doubt I will be able to sleep thorough the pain. I'm so thrilled to be banded, drinking takes a long time as I get so full very quickly. Have to say the staff here are fabulous and helping me all they can. Anyway I'm rambling, still drug drunk I think. Xx
8. Phew! I made it to day 14 of my pre op milk diet. Feeling fab, lost 16lbs!!! Bag all packed and ready to go get banded tomorrow. Can't wait, so excited and I must admit a little nervous. My partner reminded me this evening that I wouldn't see my daughters for 2 days, I cried. Think im a tad emotional!! Xx
9. Hi all, I know you guys can't really answer this question but I'm a little worried. I'm getting banded in Thursday, married in April when ill be 3 months post op and im maid of honour at my best friends wedding in august 7 months post op. Obviously dressed are bought and paid for. I'm wondering if there's a guide to what to expect post op as I'm concerned about getting the dresses altered, especailly my wedding dress. Both dresses are a size 28. Any tips or advice would be fab. Thank you. Xx
10. Thanks for all your replies. Very helpful and supportive. I'm literally only allowed 2 pints of milk with added coffee or vanilla essence, 1x 250 gram yoghurt and 2 litres of water. I'm on day 10 now and doing great. Only that one slip up. The aim for me isn't to loose weight but to shrink my liver. Weight loss is a side effect but not the aim for me. Hopefully I've done it right and all will be ok. I lost 10 lbs in the first 5 days but nothing since. Maybe it's too low in cals to continue loosing weight. I'm ok with that though as long as it's shrank my liver for surgery. Xxx

liquid diet, oh no;)

Don't worry, you'll be fine. I'm on day 7 of my pre op milk diet. It's hard but not impossible. I've lost 11 lbs already, 7 days to go. Op is on the 16th. X
12. Im still pre-op at the moment, 7 days to go! Ok so I know the first 2 weeks is liquid only, im planning on having meal replacement shakes, soups, and yoghurt. Weeks 3&4 are soft food. What do you eat here? I can cook up some cottage pies and stews to make muchy, other ideas? Can I still use the meal replacement shakes after the first 2 weeks? My literature says no bread or rice for the first 3 months. What about pasta? I was also wondering about meat, I know all meat has to be minced, but is that allowed in this stage or not until later? I read somewhere that I shouldn't have/try meat until 3 months post op. Can anyone help clear this up for me? Thanks everyone. Xx
13. Thank you ladies. Really needed to hear your words. Today I've been 100% perfect. This diet is worse then lighter life that I did for 6 months! It's harder then any diet I've ever done and ive done them all! I think it's because I'm only allowed 2 pints of milk and one 250 gram yoghurt a day for 14 days. Plus water of course. It just doesn't satisfy me , I don't really like milk either so it's very hard. Only 9 more days so hitting it hard from now. I know I can do this! I'm so ready for the changes post surgery. Just need to have to surgery for my brain to kick into place. Xx
14. Morning all, hope your all well. so I'm now on day 6 of my 14 day pre op milk and yoghurt diet, i was doing so well until yeaterday. I had a friend over that doesn't know about my surgery and ended eating a couple of sandwiches and a small amount of chocolate. Back on it 100% today. Will that effect my liver shrinkage? I want and need this op so badly. Do you think ill be ok by next Thursday? Im in a panic! Thanks ladies.
