Why oh why are there advertisements? Can I pay to get rid of them? I would never have downloaded the new app and just used my browser had I know I would be bombarded with ads -

Honestly, I gained some weight at first and ended up around my starting weight. I was still approved. -
Pre Op Liquid Diet Blues
auntiemel replied to Suddenly Siri's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's funny how they eat all the time, but never really eat. I'm lucky to be on a food diet, very low carb. Liquid diets tend to be harder to follow. Can you eat veggies or anything? -
I'm bipolar ... if there's anyone out there that could tell me how to take my meds
auntiemel replied to swtpea637's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on Zoloft and my doc said I could break them in half and take them the day after surgery. As long as it is as small or smaller than a baby aspirin and you should be ok. **im not a dr but I watched ER** lol -
Let's talk about NSAIDs
auntiemel replied to snowkitten's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc prescribed dilaudid since I'm allergic to percocet. I was assuming Vicodin would be all if need, so we will see how dilaudid works -
I have an entire list from my doc of pills that can't be crushed if anyone is interested
-
Reminds me of when I was a kid and couldn't swallow pills...my mom would crush them and put in jelly
-
I take Natures Bounty 5000 iu daily. My levels are low when I don't take them and ok when I do take them. So I'm going to stay on them ????

How do I mentally prepare for the surgery?
auntiemel replied to rockyroad's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Remember it's only temporary! You will be able to eat real good again. This is just a stepping stone in the right direction. I tried to have this surgery almost two years ago and gained weight and the surgeon couldn't do it. I'm sure all the food funerals I had didn't help, but I was also frustrated that the doctor didn't say hold off let's get your weight back down first instead of be confident and say it's no biggie -
So many of us on 9/22...I should add us all up lol

September Sleevers!
auntiemel replied to SleevedSharon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried isopure and you either love it or hate it. I have away all the other 5 jars since I can't stand it. It seems to be dry to me and have a strange aftertaste if that makes any sense -
OMG! My surgery isn't until 9/22 and I'm sitting here at my pre-op appt with anxiety! I hate this feeling. Nothing like signing papers that say "risk of blood clots, cardiac arrest, and............. DEATH! Breathe Melanie! Breathe

This pre-op diet is so hard i fail everyday
auntiemel replied to vbm510's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are other options depending on what you are doing. My surgeons office has my preop diet as no more than 40 carbs per day. I can eat things like chicken breast, veggies, ground turkey breast taco salads, even a low carb ice cream bar I found. Carb smart is 11 grams carbs. So depending on what I eat during the day I can have a snack. I am filling up on chicken and veggies before anything else and snacking on sunflower seeds when I get the urge to eat when not hungry. A few of the seeds do the trick. -

September Sleevers!
auntiemel replied to SleevedSharon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So many of us on 9/22! My weight right now is 320 so I'm hoping to get some off with the 3 week preop diet. I am allowed to eat whatever I want as long as it falls under 40 grams of carbs a day. I just found car smart ice cream bars with 11 grams of carbs and mostly sugar substitutes. So for my sweet tooth it will do lol. They said if I want a piece of bread or whatever I can, but then I need to be mindful of my carbs the rest of day. I am mostly eating veggies and chicken so i have 11 carbs to spare. I made an iced coffee with sugar free vanilla creamer and espresso shots and I actually have to say it's not bad at all! -
I'm allergic to Percocet so they prescribed dialadid. Only have had it after jaw surgery in the hospital so I don't really remember it. I think it made me tired
-
Genah, how was your recovery? I start my extended preop diet tomorrow! I'm excited
-
I am having it done at evergreen since my insurance won't cover it outside the hospital.
-
That is where I am going! Have surgery with Dr. Landerholm on 9/22! Luckily my insurance is covering all but the fitness after care and I used my FSA to pay for any copays. I love how dr landerholm really takes the time to chat with you and get to know you. He is awesome

I'm sure this has been answered multiple times...but, what does it feel like when you wake up? Can you tell your stomach is different? Did it hurt a lot? What was it like when you first tried to eat or drink something? I'm trying to prepare myself...but it's not like I can find literature anywhere on what it feels like lol
