  1. A lot of these I don't think are unhealthy like you said? I think yogurt, certain cheese, natural peanut butter and brown rice are totally OK for us!

    Mushy/soft foods

I was very very sensitive for the first 2 weeks and I am now coming up to 4 weeks post op and way better. I would drink or eat and race to the toilet 10 mins later - I was SO scared that my future would be running to the toilet ahhh!! Then I noticed it improved and instead, I would get really gassy and a bit sore. It's so much better, but I do get gas at times. I just think it's our tummy adjusting and I tried to keep away from dairy for the first 3 weeks.

    The H Word

Yep everything has been going straight through me, but I am at 3 weeks post op and it is getting better! I get a bit gassy but not running to the toilet anymore @@Mrs.Snipes

    Dieters Tea

I think going back on a meal replacement shake plan would be way more beneficial and yummier! Ha

    Does anyone regret their surgery?

Sorry to those who have had complications - thinking of you all. What a horrible experience it must be! I am 3 weeks post op and yes, the first week was tough and I had horrible gastro (TMI) but it's all calming down now and I hope that my future is bright.

    Is this too much food?

I was told 1/2 cup or 1 cup with purees/liquids....not sure how everyone else measures, but that's my guidelines.

    Peanut butter

I add natural peanut butter to my Greek yoghurt - SO yum! I am 3 weeks post surgery.
  8. It passes! I swear haha....I am 3 weeks down and totally OK. I have sat through many parties and celebrations, and totally felt OK with it all - woo hoo
  9. Not sure if I am dumping, but I am 3 weeks out and a lot of stuff goes right through me! From water based protein shakes to light custard, to yoghurt and even eggs.....maybe I am just experiencing it as my stomach is new and fresh. I also have no gall bladder....not sure, but I hope I don't have to live in constant fear of racing to a bathroom! It's been the hardest part of my journey

    Over doing sushi?

I have never been told 'no carbs' so it's funny to see how different our plans are. Rice is specifically IN my plan as something I CAN try but I have been warned that it might feel too heavy and some people avoid it because of that issue.

    Puree/Soft Foods start today!

I have been the same! I LOVE a poached egg now but so keen to get to soft foods and then onto normal stuff!

    Liquids to soft foods

I am progressing along mushy foods and then next week more soft foods. I stick to poached egg, yoghurt, protein shakes, avocado, protein pancakes (made primarily from egg and banana in my NutriBullet), hummus, a piece of deli meat with light cream cheese, soups, Weetbix cereal etc....so far I have had no problems but if you eat too fast, I know that feeling - a horrible nauseaus spell that makes you want to gag!! I ate a cheese and egg omelette a bit too fast and it just sat in my throat! Uhh, horrible. I just walk around and try to get it moving!
  13. Hi all I am 16 days out, and finding that my shakes are giving me horrible gas and pains. Sometimes it goes straight through me too (TMI) but the issue is, so does a lot of other stuff!! Sometimes milk goes straight through me, and yoghurt too. So I then resorted to water based shakes, and then they are doing the same thing. Bit confused on what to drink and eat now!!! Will call my nut tomorrow - but it's just frustrating. I am enjoying a poached egg most days, or hummus....but that's about all ha.

    Over doing sushi?

Yeah you should def only be on mushy foods - or maybe soft at the very most. Do surgeons really just not tell patients what to eat? Crazy!! Hope you feel OK after that sushi.

    Now The hard part begins.

I haven't got to the stage where I can eat real food yet, but I don't think bread is cheating? My plan says it's fine to introduce bread (toasted) at 5-6 weeks....I have never been told that carbs are now bad or banned.

    Constant Horrible Taste in Mouth

It is most likely oral thrush, guys, and you need medication. I got oral drops - and it's WAY better!
  17. I was sleeved 7/7 and doing very well! I just feel a bit nervous about liquids and any mushy foods just going 'straight through' me! I get a sore tummy and then TMI, gastro..ugh! Nut said to get off protein shakes for a few days, and see how I go. She thinks they might be too rich at the moment...but I will see. I just don't know what to eat ha

    2 Weeks Post-Op 20 Pounds Down

Awesome news and yes, don't be too hard on yourself!
  19. I just took 10 days off, and found my first 2 back at work sucked...but it was my fault as I was not taking in enough water/protein shakes etc. I am now forcing myself to have some really high Protein shakes and I feel fine!
  20. I have done it and am pleased so far - it's a hard time (I am 2 weeks post op) but I am happy and it's getting better every day!

    How restricted is your sleeve?

I wait like 45 seconds to a Minute between each bite, im only 12 days post op tho so i haven't really ate any real food yet lol. But i can relate tho, i usually cook my food to a high temp to discipline me from eating too fast. Sent From Galaxy Note 5 using the BariatricPal App I am 2 weeks out - what are you eating? I am getting super bored of mushy eggs and stuff.....uhhh, I need ideas! Ha

    Lapband to sleeve

It was a decision that took me a long time to make (4 years unbanded) but I am so happy. It is a really tough choice. I was even sedated before I got my anesthetic because I was so nervous haha!

    Lapband to sleeve

So sorry to read your story! I hope that you can make a decision that is amazing and changes your life for the better. I just had a revision (8 days ago) and I am very happy so far. It has been hard, yes, and I am still on fluids, but I am so happy already. My clothes are looser, I am on a really exciting new path, and I have no pain at all. I hope you can get to a decision and read lots on these boards to help you get some ideas xx
