I agree, they will go ahead and give you an attentive date, just for insurance purposes. My first date was the 20th, ive known my date since march, just got approved today and they pushed my date up to the 17th. on day approval. They scheduled mines before approval and my surgery was approved 1 day before surgery

Confusion,chaos, and almost a lawsuit!
Mrs. Goodridge posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yesterday was the last day of my 6 month weight in. I had all my documents ready to send to my surgeons office. So I called my surgery coordinator Caral (who I must say is a doll) and told her I was on my way with my paperwork, she said it was no problem and she couldn't wait to see me (we know each other from meetings and other appointments). So as I head out, I get another call from her office, I answer and she says she needs to connect me to Michelle (she's the one who schedules the surgery) Michelle says to me "Hi Mrs. Goodridge, are you planning on having weight loss surgery on the 20th" I reply with a yes and explained to her that I have documents stating that this was my date. She the reply's that im not on the weight loss roster, which is confusing because I've done everything asked. She states that the surgery on the 20th was for my cervix to be removed....I gasped...my cervix? how, why...what!!!!! Ive never had a problem with my cervix, my WHOLE reason for coming to this hospital was ENTIRLY to have my bypass...where did the removal of my cervix come into play!!! She then puts me on hold. After about 5 minutes the director of the hospital gets on the line in the most apologetics voice and explains that something went wrong with my paperwork. Although I've done everything for This surgery, somehow I was put in a case of outpatients instead of inpatient bypass. My point is this ....I would have walked in there on the 20th, went under the knife and woke up to find that my cervix was wrongfully removed!!!!! Thank God I kept calling, Thank God I kept asking questions....things just didn't seem right. As of right now im scheduled for the 17th of june instead of the 20th....I will be having my surgery with the university of Florida. If you feel that something is wrong, ASK QUESTIONS...this is YOUR body, DONT BE AFRAID.....asking questions literally saved me from having the WRONG SURGERY -
So today I go in for my 5th weigh in and my stomach is I complete knots. I JUST hit me that is really about to happen. im really about t change everything for a better life. last night I had a craving blast (that's what I call it) I fought it by telling myself how far ive come...but I gave in...but when I gave in I asked my self y I need to eat this, was I hungry, how did the food make me feel, and was it worth the guilt I would feel if I swallowed it.....all those questions came to a no, and I spit the food out and went to bed. so far ive lost 17lbs since my journey started in feb. I have a surgery date of june 20th. im happy im having this experience now. I understand why and when I eat. I just need some support. with surgery next month I feel as though I should have already concurred my food demons. Im still learning but no matter I ganna get there. please tell me im not the only one going through this.

exactly. but sometime these health care " professionals" try to push the patient put of the picture. they get upset when you continue to call and ask questions....not me! this goes to to show that everyone makes mistakes....but im not going to let someone's mistake mess up my life!!!! -

Mrs. Goodridge replied to Mrs. Goodridge's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you. it seems to get harder and harder to truly understand everything that's about to go on. I caught myself telling my husband that I can do it on my own, just because im so scared. ive lost my required weight plus 10 more lbs, but im just so afraid..what if im not strong enough? -

dobt be to hard on yourself. we all have made mistakes when it comes to the liquid requirment.if u have bread dont think of it as ruining the day....yout caved into ur brains temper tamtrum.. as i like to call it. the whole point of this process is to retrain yourself...and its not ganna happen over night. just give your self credit for tge good your doing. and check your self when you cave in.....if u need to chat...u can always message me -
from my understanding you should be on clear liquids only during this time for a number of weeks. you should contact your surgical office in regards to your time line of food change...meaning gwen to transition from clear, to all liquid and the to purred. gave you seen a nutritionist before surgery. be very careful what you consume until u have been approved to do so by your doctor. best of luck on this new journey

thanks...that was very informative

yes it is... how long did it last?

the waiting game is kinda crazy. but just stay on top of them regarding your paperwork. as for myself I'm schedule for surgery on June 20th. is seems so far away, yet so close. I have an upper gi schedule for tomorrow and I'm a bit nervous about it.

PSYCH EVAL?!
Mrs. Goodridge replied to bravobentley's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand ur nervousness. I just had mine done 2 days ago. I don't know the results but I was honest. I explained that I understand this is a tool and not a cure. I told her my changing of eating habits as well ad my weight lost. I have to go back for a computer generated test next Friday and that's it. I will post my results ad well but dont be nervous.
