    This ain't an easy fix!

I agree w/ regard to taking care of yourself & your body post surgery. I felt relatively well & had lots of energy until a week post-op, I suddenly felt like my energy level was greatly diminished, and I began to run a fever. I began to experience subset renal pain as well as acute upper & lower left quadrant pain. My fever rose to 104. I ended up in the ED & transported to a larger hospital where I was placed in the ICUS for two nights. Long story short, I had contracted a bacterial infection probably in surgery from some residual blood in my abdominal cavity. It was a pretty scary ordeal. After a hardy two week antibiotic routine and loads of tests, I'm now 4 weeks post-op, -45#, and feeling back to normal again. Listen to your body!

    July sleevers anyone?

Hi, I was also a July 7th sleever. I'm 51 YO & an educator. I have been struggling to get my expected 60 g of protein + 64 fl oz of beverages down. Ugh! I always seem to feel so full. I think that I definitely made the right decision, and I cannot wait to get this party started. I am an older mom of an active boy & a girl.I hope to be able to get back into shape so that I can resume my once loved Mt biking, skiing & hiking. Enjoy your summer & your journey.

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

I just had my GS surgery on the 7th, but I'm really struggling to get my 60g of protein down + the 64 fl oz of beverages. I feel really full. I've been able to pass gas easily. When I feel full & try to consume, my mouth gets watery & then I get Urpey. That doesn't feel so hot on the sutures. I also get up hourly & walk around. Any suggestions would be great.
  6. I was just sleeved on the 7th, & I'm really struggling to get the 60 g of daily protein & 64 fl oz of beverage in addition to the protein. I try to consume regularly, but I feel so full! I haven't had problems passing gas, but I do feel Urey from time to time.Any suggestions?

    Preop Diet...starving!

I'm on my 2nd day of the pre-op diet, and so far I've been fine. I'm allowed to consume 800-900 cal a day of a prescribed program w/ a variety of foods I purchased from the hospital. I get to choose from several items that are really quite tasty. I have a bag of dry cereal (120 cal worth), or some oatmeal for breakfast. I choose from 3 snacks a day (they have also been good), not to mention my entrees. My problem is portion control! I was full at dinner time, but seriously could have had a 2nd helping. My surgery dTe is 7/7, I'm very anxious to be on the other side.

    May 28-31st Sleeve Week!

I'm so inspired by reading all of the "27 ears" great reports. I'm going to be sleeved on July 7th. I'm also anxious to get this party started. In the mean time, I'm trying to increase my walking & focus on increasing my water intake. Thanks so much for sharing.

    Headaches?

My counsellor at WLF said they want us to eat plan, greek yogurt - if we need to add Vanilla (a drop for baking) to it that makes it yummy or spices (eg. Epicure spice dip mixes) or even add in some crystal light powder to flavour it. even greek yogurt with vanilla already in it has stuff we should probably never eat. It's all just a new life .... I sent a message a minute ago & I have know idea where it ended up. Sorry, I'm just learning the site.I absolutely love fresh ground nutmeg & cinnamon on my yogurt. It's worth a try if you like the spices.

3 month pre-op diet and bit scared

I have been scanning through the various posts like crazy as I have been contemplating WLS. I am so grateful to everyone for sharing their personal info. I have my 1st appt w/ my Bari-nutritionist next week & I'm very interested to find out more info. Many people have posted about "Unjury" protein powder. Is this product purchased @ GNC/various stores or on-line? Many people have stated that Green Tea has been good. I love green tea iced! Again, thank you for sharing.
