  1. I am 11 days post op. My larger incision has been a little sore since surgery, but...startng yesterday it has been hurting worse with more movement. With some movements it feels like its being pulled on and it hurts. I have a high pain tolerance and it brought me to tears earlier. I also have a pea size bump under the incision...a little redness around it, but nothing alarming. I sent a picture to my nurse, she said it looked fine but I seriously have never had an incision feel like this. If I am sitting or laing down, it's fine. Any ideas? I did put my belly band on to try to support my stomach more.

    The 2nd day of surgery

I had to do my barium swallow test about 2 hours after surgery and dopped up on morphine and phenergan..needless to say I was misserable... felt sick the whole time, couldn't stay awake and the barium was terrible, but after working out some of the gas....took about 3 days I felt so much better. I am 12days post op now nad would feel like myself if it wasnt for a very tender incision from moving around so much. It does get better.... congrats!

  6. Sometimes reflux can flare up....usually do to illness or foods provoking it. I will look at the foods you have been eating, make sure there is nothing in there that could be causing it. You also could swith PPI's to see if it helps...but if not..you should go see a GI doctor...they ight scope you to make sure all is OK. You could have developed a hernia as well.

    was sleeved 12/26/2013

I was on pain meds at night until 3 days post op.... I had no real pain other than the gas pains...I walked and rolled back on forth on the bed to work it out...well..not rolled all the way, I guess rocked back and forth. By day 4 it was way better. My large incicion has been sore ever since...but not painful..it is in a bad place were I bend, turn etc..so that is not helping.

    protein shakes :0 (....

Have you tried whey Protein shots? There is 42 grams of protein in 3.5 ounces of Fluid..they are sweet...not totally awesome, but fine to me. I bought mine at walmart. They have different flavors. Also, GNC has Isopure protein Fruit drinks...again, nt wonderful but good to me. There is 40 grams of protein in a bottle. I like the apple melon the best.
  10. Oh yes, between pains meds and our bodies getting use to something changing...there will be many phases od BM's

    Slim Fast Pre Op Diet

I prefer unjury made with unsweetend original almond milk and premier Protein shakes. Very high in protein, low carbs and sugar and tastes so good.
  12. I was only 6 days post op....my head wanted the food but my tummy didn't so I stuck to my clear liquids. I will say it is one the hardest things I have done.
  13. Ditto the above. The psysc also asked if I used any recreational drugs because hey won't approve someone who does...reason...marijuana can give you the munchies LOL My guy actually did not clear 3 people before because of that. He also wanted to make sure my family and husband was OK with it. I had to have monthly dietician appointments for 6 months prior to surgery. Every month I was weighed....she asked what I ate before..then we tweeked thing if we needed too. she taught me about portions and proper balnce of a meal.

    Trying to be patient

A lot of times insurance companies will say they haven't received anything because either they really didn't. ...The stuff was sent to the wrong fax/ department or it can take the insurance companies up to 7 days to load the information in their system. I would suggest you call your doctor's office to find out if they did submit it...If so what number they sent it too other who they called it in too...then call your insurance company tell them the information and see if they can find it or if it went to the right place. Once you get it to the right place follow up on it daily. Unfortunately office staff isn't always very good at this stuff and you have to help it along at times. I hope it gets approved soon.
