How did you handle telling everyone about your surgery
michelle68 replied to vincereautmori's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My close family and people at work knew ahead of time...others I just know..if they ask, I tell them. Its hard to hide and for me, I dont care how they feel about it. Its the best thing I ever did for myself. -

FIRST horrible day since surgery on the 10th
michelle68 replied to SlowlybutSurely's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Are you on a PPI..Like omeprazole? If your doctor didn't prescribe it for you, you can get it over the counter and take it, or even call them to see what they think. If I dont take mine twice a day (5 weeks post op) I feell nauseated and cannot eat... -

Is that normal for 4.5 weeks post op? I see my NUT Friday but I cannot eat more than that in one sitting.... just wondering if that is OK since I see lots about people eating 1/4 cup
-
My bites are about the size of a dime-nickle ...that being the bigest. I guess it adds up to around 2 tablespoons..I am trying regular foods now too... I think this is my biggest struggle yet...its not a bad struggle .... just hard to wrap my brain around sitting down to eat and barely being able to eat. I feel like I am not eating LOL Its a good problem, just trying to adjust.

Take some vit c as well...praying for you

Oh how I totally understand..I had that great moment too

Wow I am 4 weeks post op and can only manage to get in at the most 500 cals a day. My doctors office will not give me a calorie number, more important to get fluids and Protein in. I will se my NUT in a week so we will see what she says since I can tryy regular foods.
-
You should order some Unjury unflavored protein powder. You can add it to foods and drinks to bump up the protein. I use it almost daily in soups. Just cannot put it in something over 140 degrees...it will clump up.

I am 4 weeks post op. Yesterday If I moved too fast...looked up, down or to the side...I get dizzy....If I bend down or squat and stand back up...I almost faint. My BP is good....my hydration is good. I am on 2 thyroid meds, prilosec and all my vitamines..do thoselike I should... any suggestion on what it could be? I am down 40 lbs... I am wondering if I need thyroid med changed,,,or if it could be low blood sugar.... I do go to my PCP later. Surgeons office is no help...they do surgery and then they seem like they are done with ya.

Oh my goodness...glad your husband was OK..how scary. I am being very careful...I have older children to help with things. Doctor is having me do some fasting labs in the morning...checking a ton of things.. Esp thyroid, CDC and complete metobalic panel ...11 dif things. I have ahd low Iron in the past but I haven't taken anything since surgery and I dont have any calcium either, so after the Blood draw tomorrow she wants me to start on those things. psuh more fluids just in case and wait for lab results. UGH...I hope the iron helps because I cannot stand to feel like this much longer!
