glad u r feeling better.

my SO is completely supportive but virtually everyone I know views being overweight as being lazy which is quite often the case-oh sure people will say they have tried everything, diets, exercise blah blah blah but most times they have not-I can NOT honestly say I did all that I could-bottom line was I was a boredom eater and never exercised like I should-I did this as a miracle fix and Boy oh boy have I been surprised-I still have to do it all myself-pfft.Fact is is there are indeed overweight people who have done tons to manage their weight but most people who are overweight are that way due to their own inability to control their portions and dietary choices-period.So its only normal that few people will understand that this is an addiction for alot of us and like an alcoholic or drug addict its just not that easy to knock it off. With all this said I am glad that I got this done but truly wish I could have pulled it off by myself and wish you the best of luck. Its a hard road and even with the band dont count on any miracle cause it aint comin.Even knowing that I will indeed have issues if I eat bread I still do sometimes cause its soooooooooo hard to say no all times and for me I always hope that this will be the time it glides right thru(it never is)-much like any addict I cant help it but am getting better.

I was a supervisor for Krogers but quit in May and now I just run our roofing business and go back and forth to North Dakota where we own an old 17000 sqft school we are turning into a Lodge.

If you could go back in time and give yourself advice after the op, what would it be?
alatina replied to Pianoman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
this isnt a miracle cure and like before the only person who can do it is you. -
is it vomit or just the food coughing back up?I mean does it actually go all the way down so you have actual stomach acid coming back up with it or is it like what I do all the time and it never is able to go thru band and its more of a cough up-akin to a cat coughing up a hairball?

hamburgers-loooooved cheeseburgers-now they are impossible to eat.I love chips but in doses and now they too are a hard thing to eat.My absolute fave thing in the world was Milk Duds and now they will never be again-the caramel and chocolate would kill me-I refuse to even try.

GallBladder removal-easier than band?
alatina replied to JulyBandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had mine removed in 98 and it was an emergency thing-it has ruptured and I was in for 10 days but the surgery itself was a breeze.I was happy asleep the whole time and had little pain from the proceure itself my stay was based on blood poisoning and severe reaction to meds-I ended up having a fluid filled hump in my back from meds-weird huh?Now that sucked-lol. -

good luck with whatever you decide to do-I wouldnt hold alot of stock in the notion that he wont be told what your medical paperwork says-ours was SUPPOSED to be like yours was but the whole damn office ended up knowing what I went out for cause it only takes one big mouth.I had told NO ONE in my circle of friends and certainly not coworkers as it has alot of women in a small space and we all know how that breeds cattiness and gossip-lol.Anyway I am close with one girl who is employed there and I didnt even tell her and she came to me a month or so after it happened and said she just wanted to let me know that everyone in personel on down knew I had gotten the surgery because my boss had to sign off on something AND TOLD 2 other coworkers!!!!OMG!!!I wanted to die-I totally went off on him and told him he was lucky I didnt sue his ass and the only reason I wasnt was because I knew he was on his way out anyway and when I took his job id be sure to pass along to his new job what a wonderful communicator he was.Men!!

If he is your boss I would imagine the paperwork to go on leave is going to go thru him and he will know what you are going on leave for.Thing is is if you think he will look down on you for the surgery then chances are he already has that impression of you just from sight-know what I mean?My parents are of the mind that you should be able to pull yourself up and lose the weight so I dont tell them I had it done but honestly they see me thru different eyes since I became overweight anyway-he most likely thinks you are weak and lazy just by the sheer fact that you are overweight.Sad but true fact with alot of those types of people.

When were you banded? What was your weight ON DAY OF SURGERY? What is your weight now? What size do you wear? How tall are you?

to me soup is food and I dont intend to live my whole life this way just a bit to see if it kicks things into gear-I certainly cant see a few weeks hurting especially since when you have the band first done that is what you are on for 2 weeks anyway also on atkins there is a chicken soup diet where all you eat is that for a few weeks also-Oh Ill live-I do appreciate your input and concern.I am just giving it a jump start of sorts to see if it settles down-if it was to stay this tight id have a bit unfilled after awhile.I got enough chub reserve to hold me over for a arctic freeze:o)
