  1. I used food to shield me from all kinds of emotions and obstacles. In my generation it didnt seem like anyone was talking about nutrition cleaning your plate. I didn't really know much about why i was obese until it was too late. I am also convinced that genetics loaded then gun too. My daughter studied nutrition and said that and the other half of the problem is environment. My son was starting down the path as an adolescent and took control of it and looks great. It was his transformation that prompted him to take me to a consultation (really an intervention because i was stuck and scared) and he brought his sister . So i gave birth to him and he helped save my life. I hope that more young people get this under control early. However it is worth many discussions and reflections....

    Barrett's Esophagus

I understood from my Dr that Barretts esophagus would eliminate the possibility of the sleeve

    Barrett's Esophagus

When i had my endoscopy initially my doc told me he thought i had Barretts Esophogus and that i could Not have gastric sleeve if that were the case turns out i was clear but he said i might of only been able to have bypass or the band because of the pressure created by the sleeve. I had never heard about it before that day and wanted to cry because I had been looking forward to the gastric sleeve however it's really good that you know in advance that you have it so gastric sleeve may not be an option for you. At least no disappointments no surprises

    Any opinions about Paraguard?

Fyi i did forget that my first IUD i had put in at a clinic for free and the practioner was an old man and had a lot of cramping. That is why the next time i paid $475 to have my doc who i teusted do it and ha ha he was able to putnin two with no pain at all! So make sure it someone you trust and may have seen before

    Any opinions about Paraguard?

This is my second Paraguard. I had the first one put in after my second and last child was born 20 years ago, got it replaced at the 9 plus year mark. Any problems i ever had were due to hormones from being overweight. I loved and trusted my Gyn until he put the replacement IUD in while the first one was still in there! When i asked him about the first one he had a shocked look on his face since we had been talking he must have not realized anyway took both out and put the third one in. All done but now I only see his son in the same practice they really are gentle angels but Dad started to slip so I did not want to take the risk off a perforated uterus. Overall I recommend it My friend got it (she has FIVE kids) and it works for her too

    having surgery tomorrow!

Don't be nervous like i was we made a decision and now it time to finish the process. You will be fine just continue to educate yourself and in the hospital ask questions if you are not sure about something. They put you sleep and you wake with a new tummy!!!

    Pre op diet

I am day three post op today i had some greek yogurt my doc said i could go right to pureed foods but i did not feel ready just trying to get my protein in. My 10 day liquid was tough day one and ten day i had gotten huge headache probably detoxing from the 200 grams of carbs daily (i have been using lose it app to track food) thank goodness i was able to take an excedrin migraine! Day before surgery no protein clear liquids was tough felt hunger pangs but figured i had enough fat to survive the day (ha ha!) in the end i did a good liquid diet doc said my left lobe shrunk and he said that helped surgery go well i was not supposed to eat but i had a piece of grilled chicken the first couple of nights and then on occasion at night I also had a yogurt everyday finally five days before surgery we had a big party and I had a piece of steak shrimp and chicken and my liver still shrunk! I guess no fat / carbs is the trick i figured post op protein is the key so that's what i did pre op i was hardly hungry and drank a lot of everything.

Thanks i know it is individual im usually on the move so this a little hard but i know it will pass i recuperated from childbirth twice so i know no pain lasts forever. I have been walking and moving but also take a pain med when it gets bad or like now when im trying to rest thanks to both of you
