where is january peeps?

Have you tried Swanson's chicken tortilla broth? It's slightly spicy, but it tastes rich. They also have a Thai ginger. I'm not as keen on it. Anyhow, that broth really helps me get through. -

I was on clear liquids for the first week and now full liquids for two weeks, too. Truthfully, I am glad of it. I am relearning how to eat and taking it very slowly. :-) I am able to take pills, though. -

I was pretty sore the first few days, but now at 11 days, I'm feeling pretty good. My left side is definitely more tender. It's improving daily though. I just use regular Tylenol capsules. They seem to do the trick. -
I had surgery 12/31. I'm still a bit to sore to consider it yet, but it would certainly be possible. :-)

just began the journey

Terry -- what a great inspirational story!! Thanks for sharing it. -
I haven't had any feeling of regrets yet, but rather feelings of being freed from an overwhelming compulsion. These last 11 days are the first I can remember in my adult life in which I am not totally controlled by thoughts of eating. I made a lot of meals ahead of time for my husband and son for the freezer -- but I've found that I enjoy cooking still -- cooking is actually a different activity than eating! -- and I have taken to puréeing proteins from these meals to freeze in small containers for later.

I'm actually a December, but my surgery was on New Year's Eve so I'm kind of a January, too! How are you doing so far? -
I also had mine on 12/31. I'm finally feeling human again this afternoon. Working on meeting my Fluid requirements. I have absolutely no interest in food. This is very new to me. Kat

December Surgeries!?!?!?
KittyKat848 replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Waiting in the surgeons office -- final visit before surgery tomorrow. I can't believe how scared I am. Part of me just wants to run out the door, drive thru a fast food line and forget this whole thing. Frankly, if I hadn't done nine months of prep, starved for two weeks including Xmas on protein shakes alone, and done a bowel prep yesterday -- I might actually do it. I'm so frightened! -
December Surgeries!?!?!?
KittyKat848 replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I am here, too. My surgery is scheduled for New Year's Eve -- my last consultation with the surgeon is tomorrow morning. I am getting VERY nervous, but I am excited, too. I have been on the liquid diet (5 Protein shakes a day with broth and clear liquids) for two weeks. I can't believe I have made it through without cheating. I have learned a lot about myself in these last two weeks, to be sure. I thought I couldn't stand another Protein shake, but today I have to do the bowel prep (whoever named that crap GOLYTELY has a sick sense of humor) and can only have Clear liquids these last two days. I am starving! What I would give for a protein shake right about now! -
Hi everyone! I'm scheduled for surgery on the 31st of December (Happy New Year to me!) -- so I guess I will be the last person in the December group. I am feeling much more afraid now as the time is coming closer -- but reading all your posts makes this seem a lot less scary. My question is: What is one thing you wish you had known about the day of surgery and recovery?
