Those cravings....wish those would have disappeared with my diabetes!! LOL
-
Hhhhh popcorn!! I've avoided the theater because of that recently!!
-
I am so scared to try sugar. 1. If it doesn't bother me, I worry that I'll eat it. 2. I do NOT want to get dumping...that scares me. So for now, the fear motivates me from trying it

No I had the bypass, one month ago today. Down 62 lbs since the pre-surg liquid diet! I hope the turkey helps you!!

Everyone is different. Have you discussed with your doc? I have no issues with those foods....even not pureeing them....I just chew really really good. But like I said no two of us are alike I hate to hear that protien is what your having trouble with. Have you tried thin cut lean deli turkey....I lived off that during phase 2. Cut it up and mix it with laughing cow or some plain Greek yogurt and garlic. Maybe the other meats are too dense...even pureed.

I know right....it is so weird eating so little AND being ok with it LoL

Thats all I can eat when I eat eggs....for now. I'm only a month post op. But I can eat a whole boca burger. Its really strange. My doc said that I will eventually be able to eat more....but for now I am still doing pretty small portions.

I have trouble with eggs sometimes. I can't do hard boiled. They are too dry. Scrambled are better but stilll dry for me. I do scrambled with a pinch of fat free shredded cheddar and it makes eggs way easier to eat. That is pretty much breakfast every day. One egg scrambled with a pinch of cheese and 2 black berries.

Yes protien. ..umm.....I could be wrong on the cheese. I didnt double check before posting. It is a light one. I thought that's what it had.
-
Just had a great dinner!! Boca burger, spread sun dried tomato laughing cow cheese on top, then add half a small avacado on top of that....yummmmm! Pretty good protien too...14 for the "burger", 3 for the cheese and 3 for the avacado. Almost didn't miss the bread!! Almost.

Hey I was thinking...I pin a ton of protein filled recipes on Pinterest. ...and looking at paleo stuff, they have a ton of no grain "breads"...does anyone do the same? We should follow each other!! I'm Amy Evans Christner or missmonapuss...not sure which you'd need.

Wait you drink soda still?! I thought that was like pouch explosion risk?

Welcome Sara!! Man if only the surgery would have also removed my memory of food!! The cravings are rough for sure. I too read the stories and freak out....but I am using that to fight the cravings....and remember why I did this. You are in good company here....I think we've all put a post very similar to this on here at one time or another!!

It is so hard...I am almost a month post op. I avoid fat and sugar like the plague!! Fear is what helps me, I do not want to get sick. I also don't want to have done this for nothing...it is all in your brain. You need to fight the urges and remember why you did this in the first place. I'm not trying to be all preachy but it is a struggle...no one ever said this was an easy fix. You have to be a food nazi and think about everything you put in your mouth. You can do this!! We all can. We need to not make the hasty decisions that we did in the past that got us to this point. We are all stronger than that. I'm not saying there aren't days where I feel like I would lich chocolate off the floor if it was there....but I fight it. I haven't had sugar in 2 months....and sugar was my jam, I had a super sweet tooth. Long story short Chellee....you can do this!!! Fight the urges!!

Wait, we can eat pasta? I thought that wasn't allowed. I am so confused on what to eat. Like I eat protien only....I never have room for anything else. Like dinner tonight I took 2 slices of lean turkey from the deli, mixed it with some plain greek yogurt, sprinkled some garlic powder, dried onions and some shredded cheese. It was decent...but that was it....a 1/3 of a cup pretty much. Breakfast was one scrambled egg and lunch was greek yogurt with protien powder mixed in....am I eating right? So confusing!!
-
Oh no...do they know what caused it?! Are you ok?

Roasted chick peas....gives me the crunch I crave with NO guilt!!
