Just wanted to pass on some info I learned the other night eating out at Red Robin. The kids were dying to go there the other night and prior to going I looked on line for low carb options and I found out that you can get any of thier burgers or sandwiches on a lettuce bun and side salad instead of fries, I ordered the California chicken sand and was surprised at how good this was, it was served between to thick, crispy pieces of iceberg lettuce and wrapped in paper which made it easy to eat, I ate about 1/3rd and took the rest home and the next day my wife and I split the rest for lunch and it was just as good the next day.

Tracking food too much for anyone?
Fullofitx3 replied to gomekast's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I felt the same way about getting on the scale, but I do track my foods on myfitnesspal to keep me from honest and on track Everyone's different, whatever works for you and keeps you motivated is what counts. -
I'm just over 2 months out and my only regret was not doing this sooner. I can't remember the last time I felt this good.

I feel like the guy in the dos xx beer commercial, I don't always have to poop, but when I do it's gonna be a good one lol.

Great job, you look great. -
Try to stay positive, take it easy on yourself, you just had major surgery, set small goals for yourself, start walking to keep your mind busy. You can do this

I am one of those people that would jump on the scale every chance I got to see if I lost or gained weight, about 2-3 weeks I made a conscious decision to stop doing this, instead I've been more concerned with how I feel and how my clothes fit, and both had been great. My goals for getting sleeved were to lose weight, get fitter and healthier. The last time I weighed I was around 230, but I feel great, I hit the gym 3/4 times a week sometimes more, my blood pressure has been perfect, my clothes are falling off me and on the plus side my wife has not been able to keep her hands off of me. I just don't want to be overly concerned about the numbers, I just want to live a healthier lifestyle.

Wow, you look awesome, smoking hot. -
Taco meat with salsa and fatfree sour cream. Greek yogurt, my wife makes a killer chicken cacciatore with the Purdue trim and fit style chicken, she puts everything in a crock pot around 8am lets it cook for about 8hrs to the point where you the meat just falls off the bone. Baked flounder or tilapia was good too

Taking it day by day!
Fullofitx3 replied to cdmcnair18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first couple days is tough, it's important to stay hydrated though, every couple minutes try and take small sips of h2o or you protein drink. It gets easier every day. Best wishes to a speedy recovery. -
Lol, no not at all. I got three kids and every time something got broke or there was fighting going on, they always gave me the same bs line "it wasn't me" and I would reply "you guys are full of it".

Great job, it's the little goals that keep us motivate to keep going strong.

That's pretty cool, I have a elliptical in my family room and have plans to add more equipment but everything is on hold due to my inlaws living down there for now.

Congrats, that's awesome

where are the male sleever stories ?
Fullofitx3 replied to bigjoe59's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm almost 2 months post op, the hardest part for me was the 2week pre diet. After surgery I was sore for a couple days, which is to be expected dr prescribed tylonel with codene for the 1st couple days I was taking it every 4 hrs then after the 3rd or 4th day I only used it at night for maybe 2 or 3more nights, so that I could sleep comfortably through the night. The. Really the time kinda flew by, wasn't very hungry was drinking my Protein shakes and Water and really don't have any complaints, I feel great started working out 4/5 times a week, clothes are falling off me, have a lot more energy The thing that was told to me by my dr, nurses and everyone I know that been through it, is to start walking and keep moving as it helps with gas pains and prevents blood clots. They had me up walking right around couple hrs after surgery -
I was sleeved 1/20/14, the first couple days I was sore but the more I moved and walked around the better I felt, I was lucky, no gas pains and no complications. I think the hardest part for me was when eating or preparing meals my eyes were defiantly bigger then my stomach, I quickly learned to portion meals out. Now a little over 2 months out I feel great, been working 4/5 days week and actually started jogging, I have so much more energy, my clothes fit much better my only regret is not doing this sooner
-
I can't believe how the sleeve has changed my life. Prior to surgery I was at my heaviest 285, the last time I weighted myself I was 229, I don't weight myself often so not sure where I'm at now, going to the gym 3-4 times a week, today I went for a 2 mile run. I feel great, clothes fit so much better and I have so much more energy.
-
I'm sorry, the way I stated that wasn't correct, my heaviest weight 285 was about 2-3 months before surgery, I think I was around 270 just before surgery, but all in all I've had a great experience so far and looking forward to a happier and healthy life style.

What's on your menu for dinner tonight?
Fullofitx3 replied to Nell65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I been on the run all day, so I had a Muscle milk, strawberry and cream (11 oz, 20 grams of protein. -
I'm 7 weeks post op and thus was the best thing I could've ever done for myself, I'm down about 40+ lbs started working out regularly and feel great. The sipping goes away a couple weeks after surgery, you just not able to gulp / guzzle drinks, and the small portions aren't a problem, my wife calls me a cheep date now since all I'll have to set when we go out is a cup of soup or something off the app menu and some protein off her plate.
