Today was my 3 month follow up with dr, and the first time I been on the scale since March, I weighted in at 203.5 lbs, can't believe how well things are going, the last time I felt this good was during HIgh school football.

Congratulations on your continued success, you look great. -
I just got an interesting phone call, my Bariatric dr office is doing a infomercial about surgery and my dr recommend me to the company that is doing it since I had a great recovery and been pretty successful so far on this journey. Unfortunately I declined since I'm been pretty quite about my surgery and haven't really told anyone outside of my wife. It was motivating to get a call like that though.

I was out for about a month.

25f from SJ getting ready for surgery & super nervous!
Fullofitx3 replied to cherrypop89's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the same procedure done in jan 14, I can honestly say it's the best thing I have ever done and yes it's totally nomal to feel nervous about having surgery, I was ready to bail out about hr before surgery. Best of luck to you. -
Best feeling, needing smaller underwear going, from an xl (40-42) into a L (36-38). Never thought I would be so excited to go underwear shopping also never realized how expensive they are.

If your uncomfortable with you drs suggestion, you should seek a 2nd opinion. My drs instructions were no lifting for 6 weeks after surgery, but he wanted me doing light cardio and walking 30-60 mins per day right after surgery. Best of luck to you

4 months post-op ... hit plateau
Fullofitx3 replied to Princess_Ally's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Win, congratulations on losing so much weight. The scale is only way to measure weightloss, sometimes when the scale stops you see inches coming off instead and clothes start feeling looser. Main thing is to stay positive and keep up the hard work. -
Wife got me an early surprise birthday gift, tickets to flyers playoff hockey game. There's nothing better then live playoff hockey and an ice cold beer

I wish you the best of luck with your battle, the key to fight is to stay positive and kick cancers azz -
And the best part is the flyers won and crushed the rangers.

Thank you, this last week has been such an exciting week, my wife took me out clothes shopping, I have to admit she is awesome at finding great deals ended up getting about 5 pairs of shorts / pants and 4 new shirts for around $100.
-
I was at my biggest 42-44, now 36 comfortably.
-
I never was a big drinker but alway enjoyed a cold beer every now and then, and after 4 months, sticking to diet and exercise plan and shrinking down from a size 42 pants to a 36 I felt like I deserved a little treat. I It took me the whole game to finish 3/4s of it, but I was able to enjoy and savor each sip, now back to reality and back to diet and exercise.

Used to love going to the local pub on fri / sat night for live music, having a few drinks and tons of bar food, in fact we still go, just minus the drinks and food, on those days I workout little longer in the gym, do some extra house /yard work so that when I'm tempted I feel guilty cheating, the bartender is great too, I always used to drink gin and tonics in large pint glass now it's pints of water with line wedges, I still have a good time and I make sure all my friends get home safe, so it's win, last week I actually tried a small glass of gin and tonic took me like 45 mins to drink and I was fine with just the one. My only regret was waiting so long to get sleeved.

Gym / Personal trainer slowing weight loss ?
Fullofitx3 replied to YummyMummy101's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I would bet this is what your dr meant by no gym / personal trainer, but defiantly clarify with him / her before starting any routine. My dr encouraged walking 30-60 daily as exercise after surgery, after my 1 month check up, I was advised to wait until 6 weeks post-op before stepping it up and gradually increase workout. -
Favorite Motovational quote
Fullofitx3 replied to karinbuck's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My favorite is from the movie "Rocky Balboa" "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!" -
Best of luck on your journey,I'm also a 42 year old male, several years ago I was gonna get the lap band but chicken out 1/2 way through the process, then this past summer / fall I was at my highest weight and nothing I did seemed to work, so I opted for the sleeve had procedure in jan and my only regret was waiting so long, at almost 4 months out, I feel great the last time I weighed in about a month ago I was down to 230, not sure where I'm at now, don't want to live by the scale all I know is I have to keep adjusting my belt and buy new clothes. I exercise 4/5 days a week mostly cardio, I can't remember the last time I felt this good. The hardest part in my opinion is the pre-op diet, after that it's all down hill, just follow you drs advice.
