Am i prepared enough?!
Sharrene replied to gastricsleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I added 1/2 scoop of the Unjury Chicken broth protein powder to a bowl of chicken veggie soup I made for dinner. At first I though I ruined all my nice organic veggies because the soup looked cloudy. I thought it would be pasty and "proteiny" BUT it wasn't!!! It was good! It just tasted like I added some chicken bullion to my soup. Yeah! I tried the vanilla, chocolate splendor and unflavored. So far they are all very good. I think the chocolate is my favorite chocolate protein shake. I added unflavored to watered down OJ and didn't taste it. I'm on my pre-op diet so I can still play a little with options. So far I'm a huge fan of Unjury. I ordered right from their website. -

January 2014 Sleevers Come In!
Sharrene replied to HipsAndLipstick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Neti-pot to help get rid of your sinus infection. It is uncomfortable first time but really helps! I'm using one daily to prevent any sinus infections before surgery. I get sinus funk all the time. I'm also taking a vitamin C supplement to help. If neti-pot is too much for you then you can also do saline must sprays. -

I am the 15 too. Just had my EGD done this morning. My stomach and throat are a little sensitive but feeling ok. I start my pre-op diet today but I'm allowed a lean meat, veggies, & low glycemic carb with dinner. Shakes for breakfast and lunch and bars for snacks. My stomach is not up for anything at the moment though. -

Calcium with Vitamin D, a good multivitamin, B12 drops. Bariatric Advantage brand vitamins are good to look at. Check with your doctor to see any vitamins and supplements they recommend. I also take and plan to continue Bee Pollen capsules (you can get pellets to mix in shakes) aids in digestion. Has protein and a ton of other healthy benefits. Fish Oil and Flax Seed Oil. Also a probiotic.

That's awesome you are doing it with your husband. I can imagine how helpful that is with the diet and support. My husband is a Cookie Monster who never gains weight even though he never works out. I work out like crazy and still but on weight. I'm ready to get this surgery and the first week post-op behind me.

Yes I am scheduled for Jan 15th. I'm so glad not to have the all liquid diet. I'd be a hot mess. I start mine on the first. My diet is like yours thankfully! We must be having surgery close to the same day. Mine is the 14th of Jan.

I start my pre-op diet Jan 2nd. Mine isn't all liquid like a lot I have read. I am supposed to have breakfast and lunch protein shakes and dinner of lean protein, veggies, and a small starch (brown rice) with 3 snack of protein bars. I am totally going out for a nice filet mignon sometime this week and some spaghetti.

I am having surgery 1/15 with Boorse. How are you making out?
-
I'm in Allentown as well. Surgery will be 1/15/14. How are you ladies making out?

My surgery date is Jan 15th. I'm on a cancellation waiting list to hopefully get in sooner. I am having surgery in Allentown PA My CW is 261. Goal range 150-160 depending in how I look and feel. I'm more focused on fitness than a specific number. My family has a vacation planned to Sedona and Grand Canyon 10 days after my surgery that I'm starting to get nervous about. For those of you traveling post surgery did your doc give you any recommendations?

I am scheduled for surgery Jan 15th. I start my pre-op diet on Jan 2nd. Your diary has been very helpful and informative. It great to know what to expect right on the horizon. I'm nervous about my vacation I have planned 10 days post surgery. We booked the trip before my surgery date was set. We are talking the family to Sedona and Grand Canyon. Is there anything you wish you would have brought on your trip? Any food/liquid recommendations?
