Pregnant after sleeve
iagree2shine replied to Josefina1210's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was pregnant 9 months after being sleeved. My pregnancy was fine, except for morning sickness the whole time. I was induced at 39 wks and 6 days due to being uncomfortable. They were preparing for a small baby. All my scans came back he was really small. After 12 hrs in labor I had a c section due to his heart rate kept dropping. It was figured out his cord was around the neck. But otherwise came out fine and 7 lbs not the 5 they were preparing for. I would have had a vaginal birth they said but they wanted him out as soon as possible. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I have bcbs IL in Springfield and there is no waiting or supervised diet. But they have a program to cover a lot to make sure there would not be a denial. And my insurance only lets me go through a center of excellence weight loss center. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sleeve to Bypass
iagree2shine replied to Time4Kindness's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on a fast track to sleeve to bypass revision. My sleeve was wonderful lost 75lbs but ended up getting pregnant. The only reason the changing is due to a hiatal hernia and my severe GERD. I love everything my sleeve did for myself. I am nervous about changing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Pregnancy post vsg
iagree2shine replied to M.E.Flores's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my son 6 months ago. I was 9 months out of surgery when I found out, about 80 lbs down. Everything went ok, except I did have morning sickness every day until I gave birth. I was taken off of exercising due to high risk. I only gain about 10 lbs and my son came out 7 lbs. Lost all my weight as soon as I gave birth. Glad to answer any questions. Good job! You look great! -
Hey all finally checking in! Had my surgery and went great with no issues. But I did wake up swinging due to the fact I was waken up and it scared me lol. But Im on stage 2 now, which is soft foods only and protein shakes. Im down 20 lbs, 10 before and 10 now. Im on the ok to walk at the gym, but thats it. My steri stripes just came off and they look good, my incisions are healing great. I used the pain pump twice at the hospital and pain meds only twice at home due to be NASTY!
-
I didn't pack much, mostly what the doctors and nurses required me to bring. Keeping it very light.
-
I don't have to do a bowel prep, only rny have to do them at the hospital I'm going to. I'm only allowed on Protein shake and one carb item off the list and unlimited Clear liquids. I do have to wash with that special soap twice, once tonight and once tomorrow morning. I have my bag packed and ready for 9:30am tomorrow morning to be at the hospital!

One more day and we are SLEEVED!!!!! I can't believe it, we made it!

So I completed my pre op testing at the hospital and when it came to draw blood they noticed a problem. A problem I've always noticed and when I need blood drawn. So they turned around and a sonogram on my veins and first time around I received the worst news possible. I was told I would need a vein picc line and five secs later a central venous in the neck. Ummm...NO! After that happy lady left a second sonogram guy came and said my veins were fine. Anyone have to go picc line route?

what to expect during my pre-op diet?
iagree2shine replied to Erin414's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just like Scylla I'm on 4 shakes a day plus non starchy vegatables with my surgery on April 21st. But I do have a headache and I am sleepy but thats normal for me when I switch my eating habits. Hopefully like everyone says it will fade and get better. -
Im April 21st, with preop appt on April 10th. Can't wait!

For some reason Im in the mood to start my liquid diet one day earlier, which would be tomorrow, to get the feeling of it. And because its a weekend so I could see when Im off.

I recently bought a bullet, was quite excited about it. But I went to Red Lobster today, got shrimp Alfredo and good old cheddar biscuits. I didn't even feel sad, I was excited that My life is changing. I loveeeeee this type of food, but I'm ready to change.

I feel bad at times for lying to them about the procedure. They know i'm surgery but they don't know for what though. They think i'm getting something repaired and don't have to explain much.

Hey I'm Stephanie, I'm 28 and I have no children yet. Tried for yrs but can't due to my size. I've always been heavy every since I was a child. Lost 50 lbs in college due to lifestyle change, but gained back all and some more once back home. Highest weight was 297, now 287 and can't wait to finally see a smaller number. I'm done with all my testing and just got my insurance approval today in the mail.com. I really don't have much support, only from mom and fiance. All my friends are health nuts and don't believe in this, they believe good old fashioned exercise is the way to go. They don't get it and understand, they have been skinny their whole lives. But can't wait to April 21st for this. Monday I start my two week diet and ready for it!

I agree, I also have BCBS IL and no hoops either. Since I went to a center of excellence, they are quicker to approve.
