July 8th consultation
nursekimberly89 replied to Danielleh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first appointment is tomorrow! -
Hi, I am also in Maryland. I went to a seminar last night at AAMC, and when I called my insurance this morning they said if I go to doctor at University of Maryland, they will pay 90%. So I am filling out my paperwork now. What hospital are you going to have your surgery at?

Lookin good! -
Yeah, I hear ya. Short guys aren't my thing either, and I'm 5'3". Maybe it's just the ones that I've met, but they seem to be extremely pushy...that is not cool in my book.
-
Sorry your date was awful. 5'7" is a long way off from 5'0".. Wonder why he felt compelled to lie ?

Gaunt and an Amazon, really!

I believe the office could face a huge fine as well! Your gossiping friend would def. have a hard time seeking similar employment if she did something as stupid as spreading confidential information around. -
Did you know that we now have a forum for family and spouses!?!?!?!?!?!?
nursekimberly89 replied to KeeWee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I saw that board when I was on my laptop but I can't seem to find it when I'm on my iPad or iPhone... So strange. But I agree, it is a great help for concerned family and loved ones -
AAMC has a beautiful maternity floor so I'm sure you must have loved it there lol. The seminar went really well & I think I want to go with their program, especially since their coordinator stated that 99% of the cases they submit to insurance get approved..that's really encouraging! 50 lbs is great! I'm around that same weight too (240s) so it's nice to see someone with similar stats finding success. Do you have any loose skin?

What do you want to say that you can do 6 months after your surgery?
nursekimberly89 replied to KeeWee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to wears shorts too! I haven't worn them since I was 15( in public, that is ) I want to cross my legs I want to be known as Kimberly, not the girl with the big butt I want to feel comfy in my own skin -
How awesome ! Let us know how it goes. This may be the next big thing in weight loss surgery :-)
-
If you don't mind me asking, is your insurance covering this ? In my area only one surgeon is performing it right now and his site said it wouldn't be covered by insurance. Or are you participating in the research study ( I saw a website that is conducting a study for it throughout the U.S., but none of them were close to my area so I wasn't eligible). Sorry for so many questions! POSE seems really interesting and I'm sort of a medical research nerd lol. So I'm excited to see someone on the boards actually having it!
-
POSE is an incision less procedure. http://www.gisurgical.com/weight-loss-surgery/pose-procedure/

Hope you have fun on your date :-)

I remember this show! I had no idea there was a second season. The two that resonated with me was the woman ( I think her name was Melissa) whose husband liked to fool around on the internet with other women. What a jerk. And then the overweight young girl, whose name was Ashley I think...goodness I absolutely wanted to punch her mom ! She made the nastiest comments ever. TLC had a really cool show in 2008, I believe called Big Medicine. I really loved that show :-(

No more high blood Pressure!
nursekimberly89 replied to khorrocks's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yes they should taper you off! Some bp meds will cause "rebound hypertension" if you stop abruptly. I'm glad everything worked out for you :-) -

How much time did you research Doctors?
nursekimberly89 replied to BrandNewBrandy's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I agree with you daisy, these boards have revealed a lot about the physicians in Mexico, as well as the companies that work along side the doctors. One thing I have also learned is not to be swayed by low prices. After all, this is a major surgery! -
