I had RNY in March of 2001 and went from 360 to 220. The weight loss stopped to much of my disappointment. I maintained the weight until 2005 when I lost my father, brother and my job within 18 month period. My weight creeped up to 285. Now that I think back creep isn't the right decription - accelerated is more like it as I self destructed in my drug of choice. Now I have remained like this since 2007. Disgusted with myself, I dieted lost and gained the same 30 pounds.
Now I am pursuing duodenal switch because of its long term success rate. I have started getting my life back in order and started making some lifestyle changes within the last 6 months.
I need to do this for my health, my well being and to live the life that I want. I have no regrets of the first surgery. There was no other choice for me at that time. For me it is not important how I started, but how I finish.
