WISHES4444--I am sorry u are having a terrible time. I am on day 4 and it is better. I did not think anyone was on a worse diet then I am. But you are. I hope u are feeling better. I told my husband the night before I started the liquid diet that I felt like I was burying my best friend---food. But this is the way for a healthier life. We can do it. Let me know how u are doing. RMNYC--Thanks for the encouragement. And you were right. I am on day 4 and it is getting better. Day 2 was the hardest. I now know that as the days go by, it will be better. I know this is a test of my dedication to the lap band and I am very determined. Talk later.

Hello Spooky--I am disabled, but not to your degree. I have had 3 hip replacements in the same hip in the past 18 months. I have had knee replacement. I cannot walk for long periods time, cannot travel for long distances and cannot sit for long periods. And I am in constant pain to some degree. As a result of my immobility, I have packed it on too. My worry is, how will excerise while trying to loose this weight. I am able to get around with a 4 prong cane, but very slow. I also have an ungodly fear of falling. I know as I loose this weight, I will have less pain in my joints. Please keep me posted as to your progress. My surgery is scheduled for the 27th of August. Let me now if I can do anything.

Dear MBSBIKE--Good to hear from you. I am so happy you have your surgery over with and it went reasonably good. I am getting closer; mine is the 27th of Aug. I started liquid diet Monday---ugh. How long were you on liquid diet? Keep me posted.

I have been on liquid diet 4 days now. The hardest day was day 2. On day 3, I had to go to the Lap Band office and hear a seminar on nurtition. As I was walking out, I passed the scales and decided to weigh myself. Lord, the world has come to an end; I have lost 5.2 pounds!!! This is not so bad after all!!! LOL Hubbie and I had to run errands today. Since we live in the country and have about 13 miles to town, we usually combine our errands with either breakfast, lunch or dinner. This time it was different. I really did miss that side trip to the restaurant. Instead, we went to Wal Mart and I stocked up on broth, jello, chewalbe vitamins, etc. Also, we went by Dr. Bryce's office to pay for the surgery. I handed the check to the girl and said "Here is Dr. Bryce's check to go on that vacation to Europe!!!!:ohwell:

I have looked everywhere and I cannot figure out how to start my own journal. Good grief. Pls help.:cry

Miss Darlene---my dr. said caffine is an appiate stimulante. I do not need that, but I cannot give up my coffee.

NanaRena---I would be very upset if my surgeon made any comments about how much I weigh to my husband. That is a closely guarded secret. I cannot believe that I even put it on this website, but hubby is not very computer "smart" and would never find this site!!! Even when I went to seminar for first time, I told them that I did not want to know how much I weighed in at. But after I started the liquid diet I knew that I had to look at the little slip of paper I told the nurse to put the numbers on. That slip of paper was buried deep in the bottom of my purse for security reasons!!!!!! Good luck to you.

Susan, I agree with you. I feel it should be up to the woman. And have you ever noticed that most women who have abortions have been left on their own. If more men stood up to their responsibilities, there would be less abortions.

Hey Falls To Fast; I know what you mean. I am 58 years. I am almost over the age limit that they will do. Anyway, my date is Aug.27. I have struggled with this decision also. I am diabetic and have arthirtus very bad in hip and knees. Had left knee replaced and right hip replaced. I still have pain in both. I want to see my granddaughters grow up. That is what is pulling me to this decision. I am on my liquid diet now for 3 days. I have lost 5.2 pounds and that is a real motovator for me. I am sure you will make the right decision. Good Luck,

Hello everyone. Thanks for the replies. I went to my Lap Band office for a talk about nutrition. I asked them about the meds. She told me that my Primary care dr. can give me liquid glouphge. So, I have a call in to him. She also said that she will be surprised that if one month I am still on blood sugar meds. Thanks again for the replies.

I take glucophge for my diabetic condition. As those of you that take the same medication, they are very large pills. Will I be able to swallow them after the surgery. My surgery is scheduled for Aug 27th. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

TrimKim, thanks for the encouragement. Today is not as bad as yesterday. I went to my Lap Band place for a nurtitional meeting. While there, I saw the horrible scales. I got on and behold I have lost 5.2 lbs this week!!! I think I can see a small light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for your words of encouragement. Clara

Lawanda--Bless your heart for going through all that BS. I am lucky to be retired, so I can avoid that part. I would be mad at my co-worker and also my mom for their insensitive remarks. Just remember, you will be able to prance around in a size 7 one day and your co-worker will still be struggling. Like the song from Toby Keith "How do you like me now". That will be our new theme song. Hang in there.

yes, Menci, I am on liquid diet. Sure is hard to do, but I will do it. I am a strong person; stronger than I thought I was. In the past year and half, I have had 3 surgeries on my hip and endured a horrible infection. Through all of that, I did maintain some sanity. So, what is a few hungry pains------right????

That is exactly what I was thinking, after I vented, that 2 weeks is a very short span of my life. It is for a good cause. I really wish I could just sleep for 2 weeks!!!!

First of all, I want to extend my sympathy in the loss of your mom. Your Mom is there for you when all else fails and I know she is looking down on you now and very happy for you. Congrats on your 1 year anniversary. I will be banded on Aug.27th. I just started my liquid diet yesterday. Man is it hard, as you know. But happy Anniversary to you!!!!
