How can I get myself to go to the gym??? I'm too embarrassed.
claramae replied to blahblahblah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Rainer---I completely understand. Everyone wants me to do water therapy. I have had knee replacement and lately hip replacement. Well, first of all, I am afraid of water. Nearly drowned when I was 15. And more important----I do not want, nor do I desire to put this fat but in a swim suit. I even went to observe one day. Every woman there was overweight, some more than I am. But, no way. I have my pride. HOWEVER, when I loose some of this weight, I will reconsider. So, I cannot give you any pointers on going to the gym; just that I understand. -
Oh by the way I am from Texas. Royse City about 40 miles east of Dallas.

Yes DFW is Dallas/Fort Worth!!!!

heavensgiggles---congrats on getting your band. I will get mine on the 27th of August. As far as the protein drinks are concerned; I hate them. I drink them only because I must. I have found that if you put a drop of vanilla extract, almond extract, or even raspberry(in the chocolate), that makes it some better.

Shleb---I tend to worry about things alot as you seem to be doing. Or maybe I should say that I used to worry too much. I have finally decided that worry does not change a thing. Right now, you need to focus on day to day. Do not worry about what is down the line. You made the right decision on getting the band and then getting it fixed when it slipped. Just think about where you will be a year from now and compare to where you would be a year from now if you had not had it fixed. In a hundred years, you would be like me; 58 and just now getting a band. Hang in there. Everything will be fine, I promise.

I'm not HUNGRY, but I am getting a little BORED...
claramae replied to NanaRenan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Nana, I was reading one of your previous posts from the other day. My dr. recommended we use a spoon that you would feed a baby with. Perhaps that would help with eating too much at once. I will get my band on the 27th of August. I am getting a little anxious. -
Jackie, my name is Clara. Good to meet you. I will get my band on Aug 27th. Hang around this site and you will meet alot of people and make a lot of friends. Glad you have joined us.

Yes we have a Beagle, Bonnie Lou. She is our baby. Then we have 4 cats, Precious Kitty, yellow cat, cocoa and maxine. I rarely see Maxine. She is the newie, although we have had her about 2 years. She stays under the porch. When she comes out Precious trys to whip her but. Our Beagle thinks she is a cat. In fact Cocoa will lay beside Bonnie and bath her like she is a cat. Bonnie just lays there and loves every minute of it.

HELLO, any oldies out there? I'm almost 63 and want to live.

Happy Camper, That was my thought. I better do it now before I get "too old". I wish I had done it sooner, but what can I say. I have had knee replacement and 3 hip surgeries. The hip surgeries were all within a year. So, even though I know this is surgery, it will be like a teeth cleaning compared to the hip surgies. -

Nana--Thanks, we all need prayers. Sometimes more than other days. I have a really "nasty" question. When you were on your liquid diet--did you have a problem with "liquids in and liquids out". I am having a real problem with that. What do you suggest???? " -

Nana---Sorry to hear about your friend's loss. When it rains, it pours. I called my sister this morning. She had a bad night and is running a temp and feeling kind of achy. She did not know I was planning on coming and she said they were giving her something to relax and sleep. So, I will not be going. She is my only sibbling and I am so worried. Please pray for her. Talk later. -

Things to know about me:

1. I am married to the most wonderful human being on the face of this earth. We have been married 25 years. I am his third wife and he is my 2nd husband.

2. I have 2 grown daughters. One in Houston and she is the mother of my beautful twin granddaughters. Hubbie has 2 grown daughters also. He has 5 grandchildren and of course, they are mine too.

3. My youngest daughter has a drinking problem; probably worse than I even know. Every time I see her number on the caller I.D., I cringe. Never know what kind of bomb she will drop on us.

4. I have 1 Beagle, Bonnie Lou, 4 cats, Precious Kitty, Yellow Cat, Cocoa and Maxine. Maxine lives under the back porch. The other cats try to whip her but.

5. I am in love with George Strait

6. My first husband was absuive to me. Both verbally and physical.

7. Been in therapy due to ex husband, and youngest daughter.

There you have the dirt!!!!
-

Nana--I agree with you. I am gettng bored with this liquid diet. I have 6 days to go to surgery. I am getting a little depressed about not eating at this present time. I find myself not even leaving the house. Tomorrow, I will go see my sister. She is in hospital. She is taking chemo for leukemia. Since we are both kind of stuck in our own suitation, might as well keep each other company. It is 100 mile round trip to see her. I don't mind the trip, but I have to drive through Dallas and I will have to fight for my life with these Dallas drivers!! -
My dr. told me to get chewable Flintstone vitamins. Also chewable tums. I am diabetic and take Glouphage. My primary care gave me samples of liquid glouphage. I will have my band on the 27th of August. Dr. Bryce will give me liquid Loritab to take after surgery.

Dear pjanes54 and ladydi---Thanks for the reply. You guys give me so much confidence. Congrats on all of your weight loss. My surgery is on the 27th of August. I am looking forward to it so that at least I can move on to something else to eat, such as cream of wheat. This liquid diet is killing me. I have been on it one week, exactly. I do fine until about 4 pm and I start getting the "hungrys". But it is one day at a time. Thanks for the replies. I am sure I will be leaning on you guys come next week. -
