That is a good question, I am not sure. If I had to guess I think I would say maybe the times and calories are different on myfitnesspal, because the information is entered by anyone, kind of like wikipedia. You can enter how many calories for whatever exercise and anyone else who enters the same exercise will get the same choices including whether to use the previous entered calorie amount or enter their own and they may not be accurate. Like one day I played hopscotch with my kids for an hour and went to enter it and it was not listed. So I looked up ho many calories burned for playing hopscotch for 30 min and found it somewhere on google and entered it in manually on myfitnesspal, so now my results are saved for the next person who plays hopscotch lol. I am not sure if you can do this with mapmywalk. Either way, I know I am being way more active than ever before; so it is an improvement for me, even if it's not 100% accurate. How accurate do you think map my walk is? I'm only asking as the same time and exercise seems to have different calorie count on myfitnesspal? Cheers ugh always an issue with my ticker!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone had splotchy rash after surgery?
RSifers replied to wannabesleeved21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a horrible rash around all of my incisions and was told it was an allergic reaction to the glue they used in my incisions. They gave me some cream and it eventually went away. But omg the itching and burning could have driven me crazy!! Hang in there. Robi~ -
That's awesome!! Only found out about it 2 weeks ago, and have had 2 very productive weeks!!

So, I just started using the app MapMyWalk and its awesome! I was wondering if anyone else is using it? It counts how far you go, how long it takes and how many calories burned. It has settings for walking, hiking, biking, running etc. You should friend me! I am right there with you about building muscle!!! I have noticed that I seem super weak, like when I try to open things or tear things. I love Michelle and her arms and would be happy looking half as good as she does. But ya, not into the idea of saggy skin and want to do as much as I can to combat it. Haven't been to the gym since about a month before surgery and I felt super uncomfortable, plus it was crowded and I had no idea how to work all of that stuff, so I think i m going to wait about 40 more pounds and work on my excersise and confidence before I give it another try. Hey is the circuit thingy kind of like curves?
-
So 1 month out kind of on a mini stall. Have lost 25lbs but for the last week the scale is up or down by a pound or 2 everyday. Starting exercise and went to know what works for everyone. Have been doing the biggest loser video game and ordered a spin bike that I am going to use at home while watching spin classes on YouTube. Ready to create the body I have always wanted.any suggestions?

What's this 'leak test' like?
RSifers replied to sarahgirrl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the leak test a few hours after surgery. They wheeled me down to radiology and took an Cray with me standing up. Then gave me something cherryish mixed with crystal light and had me take a sip then hold my breath about 3 times in a row, while I turned to each side. It went OK, but ya the drink is yucky and I almost threw it up. I think the only thing that kept it down was telling myself how much it was going to hurt if I heeved.and she told me I would have to do it over as well, if I did and there was no way I was going to let that happen. Overall, the whole process from surgery to recovery has gone well for me and I was just as scared and nervous as you and everyone else. Try not to worry and instead focus on the positive! 8 days out and down 14 lbs!!!feeling good and actually looking forward to summer!! -
Wow! 10 lbs. In 8 Days.....
RSifers replied to one_more_time's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You and I had our procedures the same day and I m also getting great numbers. I was 269 at surgery and am now 255!! I can not believe it!!! My hubby keeps telling me that I shouldn't weigh myself all the time because I will become obsessed. I'm thinking, hey if it keeps me motivated then what's the harm! So so happy for you and here's to being in the 100's club!!!! -
That is all awesome news. My 1st post op is tomorrow, and I am hoping for great results as well!!!

That is a great question!

Brand new start wuth my sleeve
RSifers replied to katieTC's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Katie. I am 5 days post-op and I am starting to feel ok again, although I am still sore. Just like you I was afraid to go home, but overall it wasn't as bad as I thought. It really made a difference for me when they took my drain out, like I felt 30% better immediately. I have been using a heating pad which helps soothe me a bit. I still have a lot of bubbles and random hiccups that cause discomfort, but I think it is getting better everyday. I am also having a hard time meeting my daily requirements for Water and Protein, but just try to do as much as I can. So far I have no regrets and it is amazing to see my scale move, so that is keeping me motivated. I don't know if any of this helps you, but just know you are not alone!!!! I wish you the best and hang in there ok! -

Hey ladies! Just wondering how your surgeries went and how you are recovering? I am 2 days post-op and feeling pretty good.
-
Good afternoon everyone! I am 2 days post-op and I am feeling pretty good. I just tried a Protein shake a few min ago and it seems to be settling just fine. Other than 30cc's of shake each hour, I am allowed endless Clear liquids. So far so good! Is anyone else right at the beginning of post op? I am interested in any advice or tricks of the trade that can help me succeed.
