Just a quick update on my revision..... YES it is the best decision I have made to get that lapband yanked. I FEEL NORMAL.....i am in one-derland i have not been there in 30 years. I have lost 62# in 71\2 months. I have had cpap issues, still have to use it. my general health is good, i have structural problems, weight loss only improves it. I am exercising regularly. I have plateaued, so i am doubling down logging my food with FITNESS PAL, Protein watch and carb count. My attitude has vastly improved. It is interesting that i believe my voice was not heard, as a fatter heavier person, i did not think i could or should be heard. I believe the farther in the background i could be the better. Anyone else experience these sort of things. Sent from my LG-H740 using the BariatricPal App

You are making a tuff and great decision! Steep adjustment curve, old habits to new. Start or find a support group. I live in a very rural area but lots of people have had surgery. Sent from my LG-H740 using the BariatricPal App

LoraLei2 posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
What has been the pain level/recovery from this surgery. I have been seeing some posts that are disheartening. I think I have a high threshold for pain. Any experiences or ideas would be helpful. -

Pain from Band to RNY revision

Considering weight loss surgery, need feedback from those who've had it.
LoraLei2 replied to zackly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Zackly, i am 5 days post op from lapband revised to bypass. Why bypass? The band is a complete failure for me due to complications and me not listening to the surgical experts. I am 58 had the band at 51 lost, regained, lot health issues, thyroid, kidney stones insulin Resistance. Do not turn a blind eye to the bypass, it is still the gold standard. The sleeve is good if reflux is not in the picture. It was a no brainer for me as reflux was the reason i could not sleep, by pass was the way for me. Yes i had to get around that part where my plumbing was rerouted. I take one small chewable vitamin a day for the rest of my life, i was anyway. And pump up the calcium. I was 236 preop weight 231 5'3" tall. I was concerned about my age, in the end it did not make the difference. My health, my life with my husband, and our dreams together are what has made the difference. Go for it, being free of the things that made you sick was the catalyst for me. I have post op pain yes. I am doing everything the doc saya to do so I plan on being successful. Let is all know your decision. -
How are you doing dibaby44?

Revision in ten days. . Very nervous
LoraLei2 replied to tweedle's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I take 1 vitamin a day. It is specific to Bariatric patients. Has everything in it xcept calcium requirements tastes good too.Procare Health? It is awesome 1 pill once a day. -
I have had some of the same probs. My band was placed in '08. Filled unfilled, flled, unfilled, scoped 2x swallow tests, also have a hiatal hernia. Kidney stones. Thyroid surgery. Then came the reflux. Throwing up, not being able to sleep laying down. Aspirating.... I was ready to give up and just yank it. Then I had soul searching to do. Am I scared? Yes. I want to LIVE, not exist or get by. Am I off base? My surgery is July 20.

I am in Rolla. Have my surgery date in July. Would love to have and give support!
