    work out

Im just wondering how far along everyone was along when they started working out after their surgery? I know the dr doesnt want ppl doing heavyifting for like a month after but im talking light workouts like walking on a treadmill for a half hour. I want to get back to feeling like a normal person and get the most out of this operation as possible.

    toughing it for the holiday.

So tomorrow i technically start mushies foods. Today i did very good around my wifes italian family i stuck with my yogurts and protein. Since i start mushies tomorrow i ate some ricotta cheese filling and sauce from the stuffed shells. It was delicious and made me feel like a real person again. I actually ate something valid. I know some of u are going to bash me because i did it a day early and maybe cheese wasnt the best way to go but if u were around that table today u would have seen it as a win as well. Merry christmas everyone!

    Hungry

The thing is too im only 2 days from mushies so im going to try and hang it in there. The only thing is once im there i really have no idea what to eat. Putting my food in a blender just doesnt seem appetizing. My wife had a DS surgery a few months ago but she cheated big time and was eating straight solid food in a month she has no self control. So the problem there is she skipped the puree phase and i dont really cook well so neither of us know how to make good tasting mushy food except for mashed potatoes.

Im not on mushies yet ill start that the day after christmas. I do take a prescription for acide i forget what its called. I just want to make sure im doing things right. I think the worst i tried to eat was when i had soup i didnt want to strain it so i just poured a can into a bowl and heated it up. I swooshed a few small peices of carrot in my teeth and they were super soft while i was eating the broth. I still dont know how many calories i should be doing in a day at this stage.

So its bad that i can eat a 6oz yogurt in one sitting? It doesnt make me full and it takes me 20 minutes to eat. I add unflavored protein powder to it.

    Newbie who needs advice.

Hi my name is jim and i had my sleeve done one dec 12th. So far things have been good and i have lost a considerable amount of weight for being 10 days out. My wife had the DS in march so we r on this road together. I just have a few questions at this point. 1 is i was never clear on how many calories i should get in a day im probably doing 500-600. So is that enough? My dr was very adamant on watching out for liquid calories. Also i know a lot of people jump phases even though we r all advised not to. Now im not trying to yet im not even in a full 2 weeks but i know soon ill be on puree foods and from my wife doing it i can tell its not fun. Food is not meant to taste good all ground up and mixed together. She skipped her puree phase and started eating and it worked out for her with no complications. If i feel im having trouble eating puree foods what do people suggest? I dont want to push it and i know not eating solids is going to help the weight loss but lets face it a lot of people who get these types of operations have emotion attachments to food and im one of them so there is that aspect as well. Any advice is greatly appreciated thanks.
