Just wondering if anybody would give me a sample menu of your eating plan when you were losing weight with the lapband? I have gotten off track with my diet and was wanting to get some ideas and to compare my diet to someone else's.

I am wanting to get a full tummy tuck next year, but I'm hearing more about the Panni procedure, and that insurance may pay for it. What is the difference? Does the Panni flatten your stomach or just remove excess skin? I feel like I'm wearing a fat skin suit Because my skin is loose and hangs down, especially my stomach. I want a mommy makeover but if I have to self pay I'm going to do a TT first & breast implants later on. Any suggestions or advice?

Thank you!! I am definitely going to check with my insurance company! Sometimes my "apron" gets in the way of exercise. I feel like a fraud too and I'm so ashamed of my big flabby skin on my stomach. It's the only thing left as a reminder of when I weighed 270 pounds. I'm scared of surgery but I really want to get it done next year. I also get ingrown hairs on my lower stomach that are pretty painful and leave nasty scars and have also caused my skin to darken. How long did it take you to recover? Did you go down a few dress sizes? Were you able to return to work after a few weeks? I've had a few csections so I just wondered if it was comparable to that. Thank you!

Tummy tuck--what did u pay?
spw83 replied to NothingUpMySleeve's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I want to get a mommy makeover but I'm not sure how much it cost. The surgeons I called said I had to pay for a consultation before they could give me exact price, but it can range from $8500-18,000. Tummy tuck alone is $7500. -
I am also looking for a fellow lapband buddy for support. I am 30, married with 5 children ranging in age from 13 years old to 8 months plus I work full time! I really don't have a social life other than my husband and children! Congrats on the weight loss! That is awesome!

I have had lapband since 2006 & never had any issues with heartburn or acid reflux until recently. I just had a baby in August and I had a .5 cc fill in October. This is awful heartburn and it burns all the way up my throat and down in my chest. I wake up every night feeling like I am choked and it is from that acid reflux. I haven't called my surgeon yet.. But is this normal? What could it be? Could my band be messed up?

I have been eating foods that aren't as spicy and so far it has gotten better. I have an appointment in March for a barium test -
Heartburn/acid reflux with band?
spw83 replied to spw83's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes I have been banded since 2006 but I haven't always had my band filled. I lost weight without it being filled at first and then got it filled. If you could read you would see that I said I have never had any problems with my band and I am unsure as to why I suddenly have heartburn after my most recent fill in October. I haven't had a fill prior to that in 5 years. I am asking other banders if they have had any issues with it because I never have. I didn't know if it could be the band or just me. You don't have to be so condescending in your reply. Everybody is different with the lapband, it's not a cookie cutter type of thing. This site is for people to give each other advice and ask questions so you can save the smart ass answers for somebody else. -
Tally, I hope you recover fast! That sounds very painful!! Thanks for the info

I have been hearing more and more about crossfit lately... Have a few friend who has amazing results... But what exactly is it? Has anybody tried it that's had WLS? If so what's it like & what kind of results did you see?
-
That is amazing! I can't wait to try it & I'm glad you can go at your own pace, since I am not in great shape. I am looking forward to the challenge and I am trying to convince my husband into going with me, even though he is in great shape & works out daily. I think it will challenge him too.

I actually do have one more question though.. Is Crossfit comparable to insanity or p90x as in intensity & results? How quickly do you have visible results? I know it's different for men than woman but I am just really curious. Thank you

So you basically get a personal trainer every time? That is not bad then considering I paid $100 for 2 sessions with a trainer a few years ago. I think I may give it a try, just found out a good friend of mine that I grew up with owns a crossfit gym. She is in amazing shape!!! If I pair crossfit with healthy eating I should be amazed!! And I will definitely check groupons!!!

That is amazing!! Thanks for the info!! I called around in my hometown and the crossfit gyms (boxes) here are $70 +. I don't think I can afford that in my budget but I am really wanting to try it. I will admit, it does scare me a little, but I am stuck at 179 pounds and I know for a fact that crossfit will tone by body so I will lose inches & be toned. I want to be ripped like jeans lol
