That's awesome! I am going w/ Dr. Cabrera. I chose him because I was told by all the other surgeons that I would have an additional fee due to my high BMI, but Dr. Cabrera was the only one who said - you can lose the weight before surgery and get your BMI down and save yourself $1,000. That was the final deciding factor - I wanted someone who believed in me and it has really been encouraging - I still have a few to go of course as the BMI goal is 49 - so I need to get down to 285. But the coordinator has been very supportive and has suggested lots of things to help me lose the weight also. SO FRIGGIN EXCITED!

Hi boonie dog! Maybe consider extending your stay in Mexico a few days or a week if you are that concerned?

I used acupuncture and it worked. $50 for 5 visits - all the needles go in the ear. Hope this helps

I'm glad you are here, 1215sf! I've been at this site for a few months now and have read many posts similar to yours. This is where you vent and I'm not sure how prepared anyone is going into things post-op. My surgery is at the end of March and I am doing weekly counseling up to then and I still don't feel like I'll fully understand my post op brothers and sisters until I am one myself. My suggestion is to keep coming back here - you find many folks in the same situation as yourself and that should hopefully bring some comfort. By the way - my family lives in Worcester and surrounding towns. I'll be back visiting them all in May.

Not to worry, MissCK, each surgeon's instructions are different. Follow your instructions but you could also contact his coordinator just to ease your mind

Fantastic! My partner is going with me and just wanted to make sure that while at the hospital she's not stuck sleeping in a chair or on the floor.
