I thought i had read some where that u can get a card showing that u are unable to eat alot so u only get charged what a child will eat. If there is a card where could i get one i cant see paying full price for 2-4 bites. Esp when my 2 yr old eats more then me

May 1 surgery looking for a buddy to share journey with
Madelyne Bonthron replied to jodyjetson's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The protein shakes are u having a hard time with it because it makes u feel to full or just the taste?. As far as taste designer whey and champion whey make very tasty drinks. I want something that is actual suppose to taste exactly wht it is suppose to like example strawberrys should taste like strawberry not something nasty.lol. but if thats not the issue and its that u can only get in so much just focus on lil sips i used a lil pill cups the hospital would give to put your pills in. It took me a few months for me to actual be able to drink a glass of anything but protein shakes did take me a alot longer. As you lose more weight your energy level will increase i started out at 330 lbs -

I am concerned that today i was able to eat a whole hamburger with only small amt of mustard and ketchup. This was first time i ever ate a whole burger since surgery. I am almost 21 wks post op and lost 91 lbs. I am worried i took in to much food at one sitting. If took me abt 20 mins or so to finish it.

Madelyne Bonthron replied to Madelyne Bonthron's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
See i told my doctor how much i was taking in and he said that was good keep it under a 1000 and i do exercise usual 3 times a wk. But i better talk to a nutritionist that deals with what we had. I dont want to shut down. I try do everything possible lose weight but dont want to hurt myself either. Thank you for all your help. Okay so to sum it up then basical that lil burger was not a bad thing me eating the whole thing at my stage? It just was weird cause it was the first time ever i finish that amt usual i take 3 bites and done. But i did take my time and i didnt hurt, or feel sick in anyway. So i feel better abt it. But now i real need to look into this whole calorie thing. Big thank you guys -
little worried
Madelyne Bonthron replied to Madelyne Bonthron's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In the begining i didnt feel a fullness only a pressure and i knew i had enough. And the hamburg was the size of one u would get in a happy meal so it wasnt real big hamburg. And no it was not from McDonnell either.lol. it was a home made one. My biggest problem is i dont eat many small meals which i need to change. But when i do eat i never take in anymore then 800 calories in 24 hrs.More days its usual 650-680 cals . But i was lil scared cause that was first time i could finish a hamburg even of that size. In no way do i want to push or expand the amt of food i can eat -
Start: 254 Now: 248 Goal:245 I really hope i can lose those 3lbs finger crossed.

Brand New to all of this
Madelyne Bonthron replied to Gettinsmall's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am a nurse and even with all the things i have seen i new i needed the sleeve in the worst way. So i got to know my doctor well and also talked with patients i would see walk in to get a feel for my doctor. I have 5 kids from 14-2 yrs old. I weight 330 lbs and my health was getting very bad. I wanted to be around for my husband and my kids. I had lost all energy to want to play with them or do anything for that matter. I have lost 91 lbs in 21 wks and i feel amazing. This was the best decision i made for my family and I. I hope this help -
No nail polish:). So they are able to check capillary refills if necessary

Are you open or private about surgery and why?
Madelyne Bonthron replied to acscholz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well basical i am like an open book i have told tons of ppl and even strangers in begining. Like if we went out to eat and i only take 2 bites they say do u not like and i say i had weight loss surgery. Too me its not a secret: ). Esp when ppl at my work are very over weight and seen my progress i have no problem telling them everything -
