J - 54 miles is awesome!! I'm sure you can do it, especially with the support and camaraderie of the WOW chicas. I look forward to your ride report, andake sure you post some of your pics! B

HP - Those poor chickens... I've caught more than a few things on fire while cooking on the grill. Adds texture Those are great pics! Haven't heard anything from JC in a while. Wonder if he had a hard time getting his keyboard cleaned up... D - Hope your fill appt. went well, and that you're out riding your new bike! Just got back from a 2 mile walk. Go to see the doc on Wednesday. Hopefully, I'll be able to ride the trainer after that... B
-
J - Thanks... I've been using another program that sucks, and I couldn't figure out whether it was worth it to pay for the PC program or use the web version. B
-
Holy hell - turn my back to do some work for a few, and we're two pages later.... Alright, the image of BG and her pet penis is, well, hot. The image of BG's grandma crapping her depends thong is, well, not at all... And let's be honest, I'm thinking if you need depends, give it up on the thong thing... I think on that, I'll go to my meetings for the afternoon...

J - I wasn't gonna say it, but you might be onto something B
-
I think JC's gonna finish while dreaming of a stainless steel penis.... B

And you called yourself a lesbian...

HP - Thanks - I live just outside Dallas, TX. It seems as if I'm one of the few native Texans... I wish I was going to be at the big bike ride in September to meet everyone, but there will be other times, I'm sure. B

HP - Sounds like a great ride!!! Glad that you got a great ride in and were able to talk to your husband about the things that were bothering you from yesterday. B

Texas August banders

Hi Clara, Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. Write soon and give us an update! B -
J - I agree, sometimes sarcasm doesn't come across very clearly... B
-
J - You mentioned fitday. Do you use the web or PC version? B
-
JC - I'm getting better about it, since I got married. I usually do wait a generation or two. When I was single, though... B
-
D - Sorry to hear about your son's car. Bastards... Why do people do that shit? J - Just being facetious on the broccoli. I'm with HP, I can't stand the stuff. The wife keeps trying to get me to eat it because of all of the folates and other tasty wholesome goodness, but as a kid, I was forced to eat too much boiled broccoli, and I will never voluntarily eat it again. Early adoption of technology can be fun, but it can also get freakin' expensive. Will be interesting to see if my penchant for tech toys dies down as my desire for bike toys increases (or if I'll just do both & wrack up more debt)... I wasn't much on the text messaging either, but the wife is about 10 years younger and all of her friends text, so I was kind of sucked into it... JC - You little home-wrecker, you... Those are the consequences, though, if she wants to play... HP - Hope you and the hubby have a good ride, even though you're pissed and hurt. For me, sometimes doing something enjoyable with my wife will help me get over those feelings. We had Sprint, and our service was getting worse over time, so we had already planned to move to AT&T, even though there would be some early termination penalties. I think that by early next year, the price will have dropped some, as all of the Mac fans and early adopters will have already purchased, and they will be looking for customers who would be willing to buy a high-end, but not that high-end phone. Either BG must be enjoying her vacation, or they really don't have the Internet in the UP... B

Now that I'm a little more awake, I thought I'd respond more... (besides, I just can't stay away from here for more than a few wakeful minutes without going into withdrawals...) JC - Wife and I got our iPhones the day they came out (and I had the "red badge of stupidity" sunburn from hell). I love the damn thing. We were going to wait for some of the hoopla to die down, but my Treo suffered an unfortunate accident (I ran over it...) that morning, so what the hell... They were a little spendy, but fuck it, you only live once. Congratulations to your son. That had to be so exciting to try for a world record!! Thanks for the thoughts for Grumps - we may be back on our way to the ER, though. She seems to have developed a urinary tract infection secondary to all the other crap that's been wrong. Boxers are funny - they have an incredible pain tolerance, so things that would normally make other dogs cry in pain to let you know they are sick do not seem to affect her at all. D - How's that road bike treating you? Look forward to more woohoo ride reports!! J - Woohoo on the new shirt! I'm sure that felt fantastic I'll have to let the wife know that broccoli is a bad idea and will be permanently off my menu (breaks my heart...) JJ - Sorry that no one was around last night. Job, Slack - y'all out there? B

Hey Gang, Went for a 2 mile walk this AM, then spent the rest of the day sleeping off a rough week. Dog is doing much better, but like her daddy, she only gets to eat a few spoonfuls of food every hour on the hour. JC - If we're going to recommend someone get a phone for surfing the web, then Apple - iPhone really seems like the best answer (of course, I have my personal biases)... HP - I'm sorry that you had such a rough morning. I think everyone else's comments pretty much cover it, but isn't it heartening to know that there are people who will listen and offer their support? Also, thank you for posting yesterday's inspirational message! It perfectly describes how I am choosing to live my life (not that I don't sometimes fall into old ways of living where shit just happens and I let events over take me). BG - Hope you're enjoying your trip. Went to the UP once about 10 years ago. It was beautiful in autumn. J - Sounds like a good ride, although strong headwinds are a bitch... B
-
Alright then... As long as we can keep talking about the important stuff... This thread is definitely not for the faint of heart. (or the slow of reading, either) B
-
But then we might have to talk about bicycling...

This is why I've always had girl dogs...

J, JC - Thanks! She seems to be doing a little better. Last trip to the vet's she got some IV antibiotics along with fluids, and she seems to be feeling better - she's been sleeping in the same position for the last three hours and not acting like she's in pain. I just hate that she's sick & not much that I can do, and that I can't maker her understand what's going on. The poor wife hasn't had much sleep, and has been having to clean up after her since yesterday afternoon. Wish I could help, but can't pick up the dog or bend/squat to help. J - Glad you have a ride with the Chicas set up. Hope it should be fun. Sorry to hear that you won't be able to spend the holiday weekend with your GF... JC - Hope that hamstring feels better. Be careful, you don't want to me a "Gimpy Mach 3 Ninja Bitch Bad Ass" B
-
D - Glad to see that I wasn't completely crazy. One minute there was a post chock full of goodness and a (very big) picture of your bike, the next it was all gone... Glad to hear that you got to spend time with mom but sorry to hear about all of her diabetes complications. BG & JJ - Very jealous of a trip to the bike store. The wife has put me on LBS probation for a while... But there are sooo many toys.... JC - Sorry to leave ya hangin' bud. Been preoccupied with a very sick dog. Three trips to the regular vet in 24 hours + 1 trip to ER Vet last night. If I were a violent sort of guy, I would beat the rookie vet bitch's ass to a bloody fucking pulp. Even the other vets and office staff don't like her. Besides, between HP's BJ, J's giant panties and BG's thongs (and their current state of dampness), sounds like you've got it all under control. B

Texas August banders
mbsbike2002 replied to heavensgiggles's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi April, I was banded on August 14 in Plano by Dr. Cribbins. I have experienced almost no real pain, just some minor discomfort, although I did get severely dehydrated on the third day post-op. For the first few days, I was on Clear Liquids only, with bad discharge instructions leading to the dehydration. By Saturday, I started on creme soups, Protein puddings from Vitamin Shoppe (pretty good, actually), or other fuller, thicker liquids. My doctor moves to mushies as you are ready, but sometime over the next few weeks. I hope that everybody continues their good progress. B -
Alright, what the hell... I swear there was a post from Deanna about her mom, cute panties and a picture of her bike. Guess I'm getting dementia in my old age... B
-
D - That's a sweet bike! B

Job, Like I said in the other thread, almost any conventional steel bike will be strong enough to hold a larger rider. Like Juli said, visit the local bike shops. I went to several and spent about 4 hours at the shop I finally bought my bike from. The sales guy had me ride half-a-dozen bikes. Even though, on paper, they were all similar, there were several that just didn't fit right, a few more that fit okay, but didn't inspire me, and finally, I found the bike that fit right and whispered "ride me" in my ear. That's the bike I bought. Another advantage of visiting your LBS is that they may have a selection of used bikes, which will allow your bike-buying dollar to go a little farther. B
