Enjoy BG - I'll donate a lobe if ya need it... While you're having fun at the tailgate & game, I'll be learning all the tips and tricks necessary to pass the "Certified Information Security Manager" exam. Wanna trade? Wanna shoot me and put me out of my misery? Anyone? Please? I'll check back in this evening! B

J - I've been burning 2700-3100, depending on amount of exercise. Could up calories some, and up exercise some as well... B
-
Hey TX - Welcome back to God's Country (The Great State of Texas) ..... Glad to hear you had a good time in LV. B
-
Ya know - I wonder if I upped my calorie goal by a few hundred then I might not want to venture off the reservation quite so much. Maybe if I upped to 1400-1500 consumption and set a specific deficit goal (say 1800 kCal a day?) things might work better for now.... I just need to stay away from the fucking gooey-ass desserts that people are bringing in to the office - even if it means consuming more planned calories elsewhere. B

MMM.... Peanut butter balls. Even I could suck on some of those Just wouldn't respect myself in the morning, though.... J - I didn't see where the BB folks said that the food labels could be off by up to 40% - what I read said that people tend to underestimate their caloric intake, which is why it is important to accurately log consumption. Maybe I missed it, but... It does seem that if you can't count on the nutrition information being somewhat accurate, then there isn't really any point in the BB. While in theory, 3500 excess calories burned = 1 pound of fat, that only works over the long term - probably 9-12 weeks at a minimum. Some weeks, you may retain more water (PMS, Na+ intake, carb intake, etc). Some weeks, you may increase muscle mass. Some weeks, it's just fucked up. Also, since we're at a lower weight than we have been in many years, our bodies will fight to hang onto the excess fat (and sometimes water) for as long as is possible. I think the BB provides useful information about calorie burn (I estimated that I was burning far more than I am, but I believe that the burn figures are relatively accurate from the BB). D - Real bycylers shave their legs - if they're in that neighborhood with a razor, might as well finish the job... Just saying......... I'm also up for some short-term goals to help get through the season. My goal, between now and Thanksgiving is to only eat foods for which I can get nutrition information (no grazing at the office) and to keep recorded calorie consumption at 1,300 kCal/day or less. Any takers? Hope that you all have a good Friday evening! Hair-free B in Big D....

Hey J - I'm too fucking tired for any butter churning here at casa swain... And too fucking pissed at myself, too. Today was the office Thanksgiving day meal. Why is it that shit that I should be eating (no carb, low fat, all protein meat) won't go down for shit, but the oooey gooey deserts full of carbs and fat and crap go down just fine. Anyway, so pissed at myself... I'm going to go get the tightest fucking fill next week. I can't last through the holiday season like this. Stacy - obviously, I'm feeling your pain as well. You've been at it longer than I, and your results have been wonderful. Cheer up chica, we love you & we'll all get through this together. Painfully tired now, must sleep. Will be back in the morning... B

The girl or her shorts? Just sayin' B

Thanks TBS - same story here in DFW - economy is just chugging along for the most part. That is one thing about Texas - our economy is never too hot or too cold, it just is. Sometimes, like now, that's good. Have fun shopping - I kept some of my business casual and jeans from when I wasn't quite so large. I'm now at the smallest of the stuff that I have, so I'll have to start shopping soon. B
-
TBS - Congratulations on the new job!!! I'm looking for a new job, and I know how demoralizing the whole process can be.... B
-
Freudian slip - perhaps you meant BG?

Hey J - Was insomniac last night - woke up at 3:20a & didn't get back to sleep until 5:30 or so. Feel like crap - I didn't sleep very well while I was in DC, either. Off to go for a 2.5-3 mile walk with the wife and doggy. Then, it will be time to start studying again... B
-
Yep. I need to get off my ass more during the day. I did notice that my calorie burn was up during my mid-term. All that brain effort uses more calories... Not that I want more tests, mind you. B
-
There is a cool article on Slate.com about the bugg today: Tracking personal calorie burn in real time. - By Amanda Schaffer - Slate Magazine. B
-
J - Bugg pisses me off. I don't burn nearly as many calories a day as I anticipated... Other than that, it's golden... Second mid-term this afternoon. I'm done with that happy crappy for a while... B
-
Hey - I piped up earlier.... And, I've been on a plane, a nice big stainless steel phallic-shaped thing.... Contributing in my own little way.... B EDIT - Okay, I see now that after the following page, this seems like somewhat of a non-sequitur.... Mmmmmm... snatch.....

I heart GFs with skills

Has anyone ever looked into law school? I'm pondering law school after I finish B school. The catch, though, is I'll need to find a decent part-time program. The golden handcuffs will keep me from going full time. I'm gonna be such a degree whore  TBS - Yep, we're kinda warped, and we like it that way... B
-
J - you're never defiant. ever. At the airport now.... Only 4 hours 'til i leave... B
-
j - yah, I kinda wondered about that... Which is why it might be a tad more interesting - they have to keep it that way to keep folks focused... No, JC, you're never "H". ever. B

I have the fuckits so bad right now - went to the penultimate session for my conference. After half an hour of "blah blah blah - blahblahblahblahblah" I just couldn't take it. Hanging out in the bar for now. Looked at the airline sched--nothing in first before my flight, and only one aisle seat on the next flight before mine, so no sense in rushing to the airport to try to get out early. There's a conference here on ADHD, which I think would be more to my liking than what i'm here for... Oh well, back to my hard life of bar hopping at 11:00AM on a Wednesday!!! B

BG - I heart boobies J - I didn't have a problem with the rice, which is good. I've tried the sashimi (no rice), and I just couldn't get into it. I hit the half-way point right before going to boston, and then lost two more while I was there. Don't think I'm going to be quite so lucky on this trip. I had to make some less-than-optimal choices based on what would go down, versus what I should be eating. Next time I travel, I will have to stay at a hotel that has a fridge, at least, so I can go buy some protein shakes for most meals. My wife isn't with me on this trip (which is also why the food choices weren't always the best :Banane34: ). Will be so good to get home. I'm going to run by my office tonight on the way from the airport to pick up my bugg. It's going to be a venti-triple-shot day for me too! B

Hey J - was out having sushi with my wife's best friend from when she was growing up... 4 pieces is enough to fill me up now - used to be able to eat as much as I could afford .... It's my last night in DC - go home tomorrow afternoon (yippee!!) Hope everyone is having a good evening! B
-
Aahhhhh - LBT came back from the dead and much rejoicing was heard from across the land... (or at least much less bitching was heard around the hotel)... Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. It was great, except for the being away from home part. I was good - there was no "birthday treat". I did, however, discover the wonder that is a Starbuck's Caffe Mocha. Before being banded, I couldn't stand any hot beverages. Now that I'm banded, it's about all that I can stand. Oopha - it doesn't have the "burn" of the acid from the sodas, but it's got them beat in the caffeine department. Felt like someone clamped onto my eyelids & stretched those puppies wide open. I did learn a valuable lesson today, though - not more than one caffe mocha shall I have in a day. I had one this AM and one again an hour or so ago. I'm very jittery. I used to drink a twelve pack of diet coke a day, and I was never this jittery.... J - gotta love the kids... will say the most inopportune things at the most inopportune times... I would have turned about thirty shades of purple from embarrassment, though. Back to the regularly scheduled conference. Will check in again later. B

Oh, and by the way, to all you smarmy tauruses out there, TODAY is the best day of the year. B

Other than that the pain from recovery would keep my off my bike for longer, I might have been willing to do that yesterday. I hadn't slept more than 2-3 hours a night since coming home from Boston. I sat on a goddamned airplane at the gate for three hours waiting for the cockpit crew to arrive (why in the hell would they put us on an airplane when they know we can't take off for several hours due to a lack of pilots...) First was full, so I had to fly in back (I'm a fucking snob, i'll admit it). I was in tears wanting a diet coke. It's the only thing I miss from my pre-band life... Last night, I got a good night's sleep, so you're right, I probably wouldn't give it up for a diet coke (besides, there would be only one opportunity left for a diet coke for the rest of my life, and that would suck completely...) Beach Pot... B
