It's here! It came! It went. Hm.

I'm almost two weeks out and have a case of the "Blahs" too. I am following all the rules and sticking to my diet but the thought of another vanilla/chocolate protein shake makes me want to throw up. I am struggling to get in all the water, but am making an effort to get better with that. Next week I'm on to mushies and I can honestly say the only cravings I've had we're for red meat and seafood. Strange. I think the first few weeks are the hardest to get through, so I'm staying focused on all the rewards -
Ok guys, I need help... So far I'm a pretty happy girl... I had surgery on Friday, I'm down 15 pounds already and loving my choice to revise to the sleeve every minute.... Except the bad breath. I have NEVER had this issue before, but recognize this as a common occurrence with ketosis and extreme diet modifications. When does this go away and how are you dealing with this? It doesn't seem to matter how many times I brush, swish and spit, or if I eat twenty sf mints a day nothing helps... Frustrating.

I'm sure the strips are fine as they dissolve in your mouth and you're not actually swallowing them. I brush three to four times a day, and almost always have a mint in my mouth... Hope this goes away soon! My poor boyfriend! LOL

I never had any drains... I think it depends on the surgeon's technique.

I just had a band to sleeve revision on December 20th. One night stay in the hospital and I was home the next day. I have been blessed with very little pain other than what feels like too many sit ups. I'm only on post-op day two and still a little swollen so I don't expect to see any changes on the scale for a while.

How Long Is Surgery For A Revision From Band To Sleeve?
nursebeccarn replied to hallen651's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
My revision took about 90 minutes. I was lucky and had very little scar tissue and I was surprised to find that I didn't have a hernia after throwing up every day for almost three years. My recovery has been easier than the band. I have little pain worth mentioning other than gas pain and feeling a little sore. Very happy with my decision! -

Revision Surgery Wait Time Between Band To Sleeve
nursebeccarn replied to Midijola's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had the band to sleeve done in one procedure. I had my lap band for three years and threw up anything I ate or drank. Being a nurse, I knew scar tissue gets worse with every time they open you up and the recover is longer so I knew I wanted a surgeon that was very experienced in revisions so I started doing research on who could do it at the same time. I called the Bariatric Coordinator at one of the major hospitals here in Atlanta and asked her who does most revisions, told her what I wanted and she gave me a personal recommendation. On December 20th I had band out and sleeve in which my surgeon took a little over an hour to complete. I went home the next day with hardly any pain and felt as if I had only done too many sit ups. My advice to you all is use your resources, ask around, and know that it's ok to get a second opinion. Keep in mind each of our stories is unique! -
I had my lap band in 2010 and the recovery from it was lengthy and miserable. I had the sleeve on December 20th and was home the next day feeling as if I had only done a few sit ups. The sleeve was easy breezy. I took five days off of work only because I work in a very low stress office job. I would suspect that my recovery was easier due to the fact I am healthier this go round. Good Luck to you!
