I am scared the surgery didn't work for me
dyork0028 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have been on soft foods this week, so I was expecting to feel some major restriction, but I really don't. I have read that at first you can only eat 1/2 cup or so of food, but I had a half cup each of 2 soft veggies for dinner and didn't really feel full afterwards. I am so concerned my stomach is not restricted enough. -

32 hours till surgery!

Good luck!! I am 4 days post op and the first 2 days are really rough but today I feel really great! Remember that you feel better everyday. I have already lost 15 pounds since Tues ( water weight, I know) but it still makes me happy!! Let us know how you do!! -
I am third day post op from sleeve surgery. I am able to drink quite a bit with no full feeling at all. I had two sugar free popcicles back to back yesterday and probably could have handled another. Has anyone else experienced the same with liquid? I expected a much more full feeling while drinking.

My surgery was supposed to take two hours but due to a large, unknown hiatal hernia, ended up taking 5 hours. I have had a couple incidents of nausea, but never vomited. I am very sore, but otherwise, am doing great. I just had 2 sugar free Popsicles and they were fantastic. My new tummy took them well and they were refreshing for my dry mouth. Looking forward to going home tomorrow.

I am actually going through the Bowling Green ofc of Bluegrass Bariatrics. I have met Dr. Weiss, but Dr. Nwanguma is doing my surgery on Christmas Eve. I will let you know how everything goes and what my experience was like. Congrats to both of us on our brave, healthy choice!! Thinner times ahead :-) -

No, you should not have to pay anything up front before surgery. I was worried about the same thing but found out that I will only be billed after everything has been charged to insurance after the surgery. Good luck on your surgery. I am having mine on Christmas Eve and I am so excited!! -
. I had my first surgical appointment on Oct 16th. You should have been given a list of all of the studies and tests you will need completed for surgical clearance. Once you complete all of those, your surgeon's office will submit the request to insurance. I received my insurance approval in 3 days and will be having my surgery on Christmas Eve. If you do not have to participate in a 6 month diet, I would say that it would be very possible to complete the process within 5-8 weeks depending on how quickly you can get all the studies and tests done. Good luck and don't get discouraged!
