I've gone for the initial consult at UVA Bariatric Weight Loss Center. I've done 6 months of prerequite weight management visits with my PCP, as well as a variety of other testing including a sleep study, EKG, psychiatric confirmation.
I received word from the Insurance Specialist that my surgery has been approved. I have some additional tests and procedures that Dr. Bruce Schooner (my surgeon) would like done. I've been set up with an endoscopy, an ultrasound of my gallbladder, and a PFT.
Hopefully I will be cleared for surgery within the next month.
