    Upset

Congratulations on getting pregnant! I don't know the answer, but wanted to give you a hug and to tell you that everything works itself out in time. If you want the surgery down the road, it will happen...even if you have to qualify all over again. -Raine
  2. Sassy and Kiari...I feel you. Just hang in there and try not to stress. You're doing all you can to make it happen. I think most drs would tell you upfront if you will not qualify for sure. Your docs think you might/should qualify that's why they've got you moving forward. You have to just wait to see what the ins company says. And even if it's a first time denial, don't give up. Praying for you both that everything is as it should be.
  3. Pooping is a tricky subject and you have to be very careful. I've been using enemas to poop and not taking stool softeners. Thought I was fine. Then, the poop decided to come down on its own and was IMPACTED. 3 days of sheer hell getting that out. I've learned the hard way that stool softeners are absolutely essential.
  4. Hang in there. I just broke my stall today. It will happen.
  5. My stall was about three weeks out and lasted for about a week. I was sleeved on 12/18. My weight lose is now steady and I really try only to weight myself a couple of time a week but that's not working to well. I'm still on phase two of my physician's diet. Don't move to fruits and veggies for another two weeks. :-(. Missing my veggies. My physician is conservative on diets. Hope that's a good thing. I go back to work on the 29th and I'm looking forward to getting back in a routine. I'm trying to get my daily meals on my work schedule to make it easier. I work some crazy hours and take call at least three days a week. My days can last from 10 to 16 hours especially this time of year when so many dialysis patients are hospitalize due to illness. Taking a big tub of my favorite protein powder to leave in my locker for those O My Goodness moments need some energy. Need some ideas on easy meals for breakfast and lunch. It sounds like you're doing a great job and you're planning for life's hiccups. Have you done a search on the board for meal suggestions for this food stage? There are so many cool ideas from board members.
  6. Stalled for about 10 days now. Sleeved Dec 23. So glad for this board because I'm waiting it out and not stressing. How are you doing?

Awesome! Keep it up. I think not getting in the protein and cals could be a huge issue a few months out so we have to stick with the program.
  8. Have you tried 1/2 juice, 1/2 water? That might help?

Are you allowed to take longer to eat your meal. If you ate over a 45 minute period and slower, you may be able to get more in than over a 20 minute period. Not sure if this allowed or encouraged. Maybe a vet can let us know.
  10. Awwww, congratulations! Here's hoping the scale keeps moving and you keep feeling healthy and strong.

    Ask LilMissDiva: Anything.

I'll start. You've had awesome success. What is your top ten list of how to lose the weight and keep it off? I'm almost 4 weeks post op.
  12. Really good to hear this. I'm a big entertainer too and hosting/attending parties post op is a fear of mine. I'm glad to hear that you were able to host and felt good doing so.
  13. I agree with DH taking time off if he can. I couldn't imagine caring for little ones right after surgery. I'd say 3 days off after you come home would be sufficient. I still felt weak but could function. I'd also prepare and freeze meals.
  14. Well done and best wishes! This has been worth it so far. I hope you'll feel the same way soon after surgery.

    Mind hunger...

Me, me, me! I found that there were a few days here when I was eating all day (popsicles mostly). When I stopped to think about it, I realized that my belly was fine and that it was my head telling me to eat. The fix? I set meal and snack times. I don't get hungry just yet so I schedule meals, eat on schedule and it's fine. I read somewhere that grazing can lead to overeating later. Had to nip that in the bud. I'm about 16 days out and I think I was about 10 days out when it started. I hope this helps you in some way.

    Jan. 30th 2014 !

Congratulations! Soak up the board and learn as much as you can. This is a pretty incredible journey that we're on.
  17. So awesome! I had a good chuckle.
  18. The first fews days of dry heaving, not being able to drink a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g., feeling groggy, weak, sick, tired, yeast infection (yikes). Now I need to add that I'm 16 days post op and I feel really good. So really the misery was short lived, I'm losing weight and feeling great. No point in dwelling on the bad stuff when there's a pot of gold on the way to the end of the rainbow. ya know?
  19. Nice work! What I love about the surgery is I have a tool that allows me to eat right, exercise and see the weight come off as my reward. It is clear that you've been working the tool. Keep it up!

    Gaunt and an Amazon, really!

It sounds like she's just really dependent on you and scared that she might lose you. The problem is that she's not educated about the surgery or why you've set your goals where you have. It's also not good that she can look at you and tell you to stop losing, but if she gained to your current weight, she'd been fighting mad to get back to her current size. I say don't dump her, just chalk it up to her accident, love for you and a huge amount of selfishness.
  22. When you eat (puréed for me right now) and you feel the restriction, do you stop eating OR do you wait a while and continue. I am never hungry so I'm trying to understand if my goal is to finish my 1/4 cup or stop when the restriction kicks in. Thanks.

    I miss my fruit!

Fruit lover here. And hater of most things dairy. I could live on just fruit. Post sleeve fruit is out and dairy is in. I'm going to do what I'm told and eat dairy and avoid fruit initially. I keep reading that all foods will be possible eventually. I'm holding out for when this becomes my reality. Hang in there. Imagine being slim, on a beach eating a mango. It's worth the wait.
  24. Jaime I think this is just how it goes 5 days out. I could barely drink. Horrible cramping in my chest. I'm nearly 2 weeks out now and I can get down what I'm supposed to. Hang in there and keep trying. It gets better.
