i have a pulling under my ribs have had it since my surgery on oct 10th 2007 worse when i eat but not always when i eat the more fills i get the worse it gets anyone have an idea doc said origianlly maybe the scar tissue of the tubing in the muscle but its been 4 mos i would think it would go away i have had 2 fills due for a nother next tues the 19th i hope there arent any problems with this erosion slilppage ?? Hi all I HAAVENT POSTED in a while i can hardly stomach getting on anymore because i am soo discouraged im soo happpy for eveyone on here but dont understand why this is not working for me i did great in the beginning lost 40 lbs within the first 4 mos literallly have lost none since them ive heard the platuea thing the be patient the excercise thing done it all nothing works i have had 5 fills can hardly eat anything including any meat or bread or carbs pretty much of any kind but yet im still hungry not losing and now gaining i dont know if something is wrong with my band if this is normal my doctor is not concerned telling me it takes most people 2 years to lose all the weight! but why am i gaining then! i feel like i have been screwed by having this surgery cost me 1,200 out of pocket i didnt have and am still paying on! Is this a hump or is this just as good as it gets thinking seriously about having band removed i just dont know what too do! im sorry if it sounds like im feeling sorry for myself i guess i proboly am lol! i need some advice

approx 1,200 cal a day and yes with the excercise prob not as much as i should 1-2 times a week but before summer from like march until mid june i worked out 3-4 times a week without losing either! My doc says its normal that slower is better hes not worried he origionally told me like 2 years to lose 80lbs he is not real agggressive with the process i only have 6cc in a 9cc band but thats the thing i am ok with restriction if any thing i might be a little too tight i cannot eat any bread which is ok but i also cannot eat much protein maybe a little chicken sometmes no veggies ! so i resort to things that are maybe higher in calories so its like a vicicous circle it will be a year in october i lost most of it before my fills not much since so ya confusing!

i may start on protein shakes to get the protein in and i may have some fluid removed because the thing is everything people are telling me they are eating to lose weight i cannot eat due to being too tight so its a vicious circle i think so thanks everyone!!!!

here is the part that sucks i think i am at my sweet spot ! I am not eating much i have major restriction but im still not losing the weight i just dont get it its been 10 mos since my surgery i too lost most of my weight before fills and only about another 15 since fills for a total of 40lbs i have 40 more to go so i am discouraged at this point so it is hard to say for everyone what experience your going to have good luck to everyone just take it one day at a time!!!!

I AM BETTER TODAY I JUST TRIED TO go back to the basics tracking everything writing everything down! Ya i don't eat any carbs once a month i can choke a potatoe baked down! pasta and any kind of bread gets stuck so i dont eat it same with sweets ! thanks for the advice from everyone!

omg you guys thanks for all the advice it has helped me alot MINI ME I AM so encouraged to hear you say that because i guess i felt like if i had not lost the weight mostly in the first year i was proboly not going to my doctor told me in the beginning that it would proboly take 2 years my goal was 80lbs i have lost about 40 struggling between losing and regaining about 6 of the same lbs i guess i was just really down yesterday when i came on and posted to everyone thanks for bringing me back up lol

i cant eat any carbs at all! very little protein i have recently stopped tracking my calories but there isnt much i can eat so i dont know why i am gaining not much restriction but everything goes down very slow or comes back up but yet i dont think i am too tight cuz i still feel hungry it does not make any sense i went to my doc about a month ago ! He is not worried says its totally normal it does not feel normal too me at all i feel like im still in the same bust your ass to lose weight and have it not work just like before i was banded! Maybe it does just stop working i dont know

thanks so much for everyone input I excercise about 4 times a week olptical however spelled for 30 min treadmill 30 min and about 20 minutes weights and machines for excercise! i know im not too full because i dont feel full after eating now i do graze instead of eating one big meal that could be it i know sometimes i make wrong choices in food but once in awhile like all of us not enuf to warrant no weight loss! Removing my band would proboly be a mistake i know i would gain it all back i just feel like if my stomach is soo small and there are so many things i cannot eat and i still am not losing whats the point almost like it was all for nothing . I dont know what to do anymore my surgeon just sort of blows me off like its normal dont worry ive had four fills in a 9cc band i have prob 6cc alot of stuff gets stuck i bring it back up not to sound gross but everything i eat feels very tight going down but yet i dont feel full go figure !!!

Hi i do have some restriction the problem with me is im still not losing! havent lost anyweight in 5 mos doc says its normal i am getting very discouraged working out theres not much anymore i can even eat no meat or carbs but yet i do have an appetite how does one know if there port has slipped or there is other problems any symptoms etc thanks !

the shoulder pain you are feeling after the first month is not gas! i am 10 mos out and it is somewhat of a permanent side effect for some the band /stomach is attached somehow to the same nerve that the esophgus and shoulder muscle so its sort of a pinching off if you will of that nerve mine comes and goes especially when i feel tighter or after a fill the pain gets less but i do still have it that question was answered by my doc so ya just hang in there it does get better but may be permanent! good luck:thumbup:

Heck ya i get numbed have you ever seen that stinking needle ask next time for numbing stuff you will still feel a couple little pricks but you shouldnt be in that much pain!

how old are you? YOU MIGHT BE GOING THROUGH YOUR CHANGE IM ONLLY 36 and im already in my change unfourtunetly i have symptoms just like that even before my lapband it horrible i sometimes have 4 periods a month! good luck

dude your toooo tight !!!! I have been banded for almost 8 mos the only time i feel that way is either eating too much or too tight you should not be throwing up that is not normal or feeling like your going too go see doc have some fluid adjusted! good luck

THERE ARE DAYS I REGRET IT!!!!!Just to let you know it is not a quick fix it is a slow weight loss and sometimes very frusterating is is worth it ? I THINK FOR the most part it is but i get discouraged easy about it i get discouraged that i still can make poor food choices that still enable me from losing weight just like before surgerY i dont know what i expected but it is different you will lose but slowly there is no average i think its just what normal for you so dont go in with any expectations other than living healthy eating healty forever and you will do fine good luck!

Where are you getting pain from and how long has it been since your surgery?

i hate it i have had two fills and i am now at a standstill i have not lost weight in over a month im staying the same is this normal i feel like i did on all my yo yo diets before the surgery where you cant lost after a certain weight loss i have lost 34 lbs up til now i feel like the fills should be helping me lose not stay the same i have a 9cc band with only 3cc in it right now how long before i im at my sweet spot how many fills im sort of annoyed help!

WHEN I HAD broke my ankle of course this was before my surgery and stuff but i had a full leg cast for 4 mos and i packed the weight on due to lack of excercise hang in there!

wow i have a 9cc band with 3 cc in it now and it is not enuf hardely any restriction i would like to no how long it takes to be at my sweet spot

i hate to tell you i am 4 mos out and i stilll have shoulder pain the more fills i get the worse it is so im thinking it might be permanent im hoping not does anyone had it go awaY?

i am the lucky few that got restriction just from my band no fill i went for my first fill 8 weeks after surgery told my doc what i was expeiriencing he didnt even want to give me a fill but i wanted to at least try it he only gave me 1cc and it was great for about a week then hunger kicked in i got my apetite back have not lost any weight since my fill though i have lost 33 lbs total since oct 10th and i am happy with that im just wondering now how much to get in my band next which is on the 22nd of january so ya i hope i get restricion again!

it gets stuck in the pouch if the item of food is too fiborous or not chewed well enuf it feels like something is stuck in your chest like when you swallow too big of a piece its the opening of the stomach is where it gets stuck and it is not comfortable dont eat to fast!

you will gain a few pounds once you start eating food again until your fill dont worry its usually only for a week or so at least thats how it worked for me good luck!

thanks to god my insurance cover the surgery but i still have a 20 percent copay which is around 5,000 i was just wondering how long the hopsital gives you to pay that off and how much payment are approx. I DONT HAVE GOOD CREDIT AT ALL TO GET A LOAN EITHER! i dont want that 5,000 to keep me from having surgery but i dont know how im gonna come up with it either help!:help:
