i encountered my first glitch i was over looking my paper work and realized that i had to schedule my preop testing cbc metabolic panel and ekg anyways i looked on sheet from surgeon it said i should have test at least 3 weeks before surgery and not more than 30 days before well today is the 25th of sept my surgery is october 10th not three weeks before i am very worried about them now postponing my surgery or something being messed up thats why i was wondering why they would say 3 weeks before why not 2 or 2.5 or even 1.5 maybe it takes awhile for tests to come back im not sure butnow im so nervous and everything is closed right now to call help :help: -

i have never heard of an office that does that i cant believe how rude! where do you live ? is there anywhere else that you could go even if youhave to drive a ways my surgeon is 1hour away from my home they do explain the benefits and disbenefit of both surgery but you are the one who makes the final decision although my doc only does lap band and not bariatic surgery so im not sure if that is the difference dont give up gain the weight if you need to most likely you will lose it back during your pre op diet so look at it that way lol!:clap2: -

Dlew i lied my ass off at my psch appointment seriously i guess i shouldnt say i totally lied but i did answer the questions the way i thought they would want me to does that make sense? of course we are depressed being 100 lbs overweight what do they expect ? WHEN THEY asked me i just said i had mild depression all evaluations are different but they usually have you take a meyers briggs test personality test i guess then they you take a test its like 585 questions try to be honest but dont give out to much info either i guess good luck to you oh by the way i did pass mine! with flying colors lol! -

The chances are that you will put the 20lbs back on eventually anyways obesity is a curse and most of the time the weight will always come back on ! i would most def gain the weight to have the band i know that it sucks but its reality unfortunetly dont be so hard on yourself if you decide to gain the 20 back good luck! :whoo: -

alot of insurance companies b/c b/s ppo you have to have lost 100 lbs plus and have rashes or side effect due to excess skin but they do cover it if you fit the criteria!
-

ok i am having my band done is october! i have heard a ton of people talk about hair loss! i have very thick and tons of hair always been my best asset lol! why is there hair loss is it due to the anestetic spelling however its spelled or is it the actual procedure? any ideas how to prevent it someone said taking biotin any other ideas im very scared about that!:help: -
i felt very confident that i wanted to have the band until i started reading some of these threads from extreme hair loss!!!!! to slippage to erosion to dilations on and on and on scary as hell ! IS THIS SURGERY REALLY WORTH ALL THE COMPLICATIONS? are these isolated incidents or very common where are these people having there surgeries are the doc qualified etc. help i need to hear from someone more than a year out that has had good results with no problems how do you keep these problems from occuring any advice?:help:

i have done so much research on this surgery i realize that things could happen as like with any surgery or illnes your absolutely right i have decided to get the surgery done! i am waiting on approval from my primary doctor i need a psych exam and im ready to go! i talked to my dr about these complications and theres only about a 1% chance of these things going wrong and i guess it really depends on having a good surgeon who knows what he's doing so do your reasearch on your doc too find out his success rates with all complications! good luck to all who are in the process like i am good luck to those already scheduled for surgery and good luck and success with those who are already banded ! GOD BLESS!!!!:kiss2:
