Making the decision to be banded.

CONGRATS!!!! I had my surgery on OCTOBER 10TH i have my first fill on december 11th i had alot of complications from the surgery and for the first week i thought i was gonna die so i had unusual side effects that most people proboly will not expierience from this surgery and still i would do it over again and again it is worth it when you see that weight come off and no that your life is going through a wonderful change the surgery it self is uncomfortable with some minor set backs give your self a good month to feel normal take at least a week off of work though you need it ! I dont miss my old life of eating at all!!!! YOu eat small a mounts but your full so ;you dont care that you can only eat small amounts does that make sense? JUST TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AFTER SURGERY!! DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!!!! that was my main problem i got severley dehydrated afterwards good luck !!!!!

    Not losing weight since banding

i have not lost a ton of weight since surgery and what i did lose as soon as i got on foods again i acutally gain some back which sucks but i have heard that this is normal so we will see i get my first fill on dec 11 hopefully that will make a difference for me but i know it is discouraging to me too you would think your stomach is the size of a what nickel or quarter? THEN ALL LIQUIDS FOR 5 FRICKEN WEEKS YOU WOULD THINK YOU WOULD DROP 50 LBS BUT NOT THE CASE LOL eveyone loses at a differnt rate plus i really dont have that much to lose which doc says that will make a difference too i had about 75 lbs to lose i have lost now about 18 started out 20 before i started foods so i have gained about 2 lbs back following docs diet plan!

November 20th and a nervous wreck!

sometimes the lord knows best there is some reason that you were not able to finish you will be that much ready next time ! i too had low blood oxygen but this was after surgery i had a ton of complications that i would never wish on anyone so i think that this kept you from being in alot of trouble later it was very hard for me and i thought honest to God that i was going to die the first week of my surgery so someitmes theres a great reason for things working out the way they do good luck !

    weight gain after lap band

the WEIGHT GAIN IS DUE TO THE EXTREME SWELLING! when you are on the liquid for 5 weeks you will lose weight but beware you do gain some back when you start eating food again before fill not a bunch but 2-3 lbs dont weigh yourself the first couple weeks and then you will get on the scale and WOW lol! good luck take care

  13. Actually it might not be that bad of an idea i will tell you that i almost needed a blood transfusion after this surgery due to blood and fluid loss according to my doc you do lose alot of blood and fluid during this surgery thank goodness i wound up getting a fluid tranfusion instead but it happened a week after my surgery i was not getting any better i felt so week my blood pressure was dangerously low due to blood and fluid loss i was also anemic i dont think that this is super common but it is possible i was really freaking out too about getting blood from anyone else than a relative or from myself i was wishing i would of gave blood i wouldnt worry too much about it but it is something to think about ! good luck take care

For those six months after band surgery

wow i think if your gonna lose it your just meant to everyone is different i suppose i know i will proboly lose it cause i have before so ya ill be looking for advice when it starts lol! thanks the lord i have very thick long dark hair so it may not be as noticeable at least i hope lol!
  22. jamietindall19

For those six months after band surgery

my oppinion is that its not necessarily the weight loss as much as the anesthetic i have had 4 major surgeries in which general was used i lost alot of hair with all 3 of them im only 6 weeks out of lapband so i cant say yet for this but i know i have lost 100 lbs before without hair loss and without surgery so i think it is the anesthetic for sure! Good luck to all i hope i dont lose hair again i never lost like 50 percent or anything that seems extreme and would think its more than a side effect from weight loss or surgery maybe more like a vitamin deficiency or protein ? have you guys had your blood drawn to look for deficiency!
  23. i dont think they recommend this because it is resorting to old habits thats what my doc says at least! plus they make you jittery and yucky feeling you will get through the hunger just drinka ton of water thats how i got through!

    Question About The Ap Band

i have no idea what you guys are talking about a thought a band was a band the only thing the doc told me was it was the small band whatever that even means so ya i trust my doc one of the best in the country thats why i picked him so i have confidence that he knows whats best for me also if i lose weight which i am right now at a crazy rate so i guess that good for now hope this continues hope everyone is happy in band land ! lol god bless good luck!
